When we learn our native language, first we listen, then we speak, then we read and finally we write. Listening, speaking, reading and writing are the four language skills we need to develop for complete communication.

Listening and reading are receptive: input, i.e. the exposure you have to authentic language in use. Speaking and writing are productive: output, i.e. the action of producing language as part of the process of second language learning.

To achieve these four basic language skills, you need to surround yourself with English: make English part of your life at home, at work, during your free time.

Read on to find tips that will help you overcome the difficulties you might be experiencing to improve your English skills.

Expose yourself to the language as much as possible:

practice makes perfect, which means that if you want to improve a certain skill you have to practice it. As a beginner learner you will need to achieve all 4 language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Spending time in an English-speaking country is a really essential experience for the English-learners as well as the best way to study the language. However, I believe that there are many other strategies for learning English, which are useful enough.

In the first place, studying in an English-speaking country such as Australia gives you a variety of opportunities to improve your speaking and listening skills. Moreover, you practice your English while doing ordinary things, for instance, shopping. Consequently, you become more self-confident. Being overseas is the best way to learn the language effectively.

Secondly, providing that the learner is hard-working enough, they can learn English even in their own country. The English Language Schools provide their students with a wide range of opportunities to master the language. Furthermore, there are different methods to practice your skills such as watching English television, reading English books, magazines, etc. The combination of some of these methods might be a really useful strategy.

In conclusion, there are many advantages of living in an English-speaking country as this is the best strategy to learn the language. Nevertheless, if the student is responsible and works hard, they can achieve success in studying English not only in a country where the language is widely spoken.

In my opinion, every single person has her / his own way to learn English. Usually, I have English class on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Nowaday, English becomes the offical language in the world which is considered as a work's criterion, I partly understand how important and essential it's. As the result, I spend quite alot of time learning this subject: for 2 hours per day.For me, the best way I use to improve improve my English is watching films, cartoons, tv shows and certain tv channels like BBC or Sky news. That is a very good thing due to the fact that when you are younger you can associate the words said do the words and know I challenge myself by only listening to what they say and not read the subtitles! The second good way to learn English is to write several times the new words we learn, for instance, when I learned the colours or the numbers or even the name of our clothes, the homework was to write each new word five or ten times!! This definetly helped me a lot!A third good way to learn and practise our English is to talk with our friends or teacher in class! This way we can practise new vocabulary and at the same time we learn with the mistakes that we might say during our speech. And at the end we always say "I could have said that in a different and better way!".Next advice is to read a lot, not only books but newspapers and magazines as well! There is so much good and new vocabulary in a book that we have no idea! That's why I try to read in English at every opportunity that I have! Even if I don't understand the meaning of that word, I can understand the meaning of the sentence and by that I can try and guess what that word really means!

Thấy hay nhớ tick haha
