It is essential to know how to use chopsticks for Japanese dining etiquette, particularly in formal (1) occasions and when doing
business in Japan. If you're (2) clumsy with the chopsticks, how can you be expected to handle other (3) clever matters? Don't
expect to always rely on Western-style utensils. First, start by (4) lifting the chopsticks with both hands and follow the basic
(5) rules of chopsticks etiquette. Always keep in (6) mind that chopsticks are eating utensils, just as a (7) fork and knife, so
don't play with them, point with them, or rub them together! If no serving utensils are (8) dropping during a family-style meal
(sometimes this is the case when visiting someone's home), remember to take food from the (9) bowls on the table by using
the thick ends, the ends that don't go into your (10) mouth, of the chopsticks.

There are five mistake in the passage. Can you find and correct them?

Chopsticks

Depending on the restaurant you decide upon for that evening, you may be required to use chopsticks. If for some reason you aren't too adept with chopsticks, try to learn before passing through immigration. It's not really that hard.

One false assumption among many Japanese that's slowly being dispelled by the time are (=> by time is the ) the " uniqueness " of Japan. Japan is a island nation; Japan is only country that has four seasons; foreigners can't understand Japan; only Japanese can use chopsticks properly.

I cannot count the number of times I've been told how to use Japanese chopsticks but I couldn't use perfectly. If you're dining in => with a Japanese, don't be surprised if you receive a look of amazement at your ability to eat like a Japanese.

P/s : Mấy chỗ in đậm là sửa lại nhé !

1, Read the passage and choose the best option.

Chopsticks

What if you had no knives? What if you had no forks or spoons? And what if you couldn’t pick up your food with your hands? Then how would you eat?

You might try chopsticks.

Most people in China don’t use knives or porks. They use chposticks. These sticks come in pairs. They are a little longer than a pencil. They’re thinner, too. And they are made of wood or bone.

How do you use chopsticks? You hold them with the thumb and fingers of one hand. Then you trap a piece of food between the ends of the sticks. And you bring the food to your mouth

So now you know how to use chopsticks. The first time you try them , you might have trouble. Many people do. But not the people in China, Japan and Viet Nam. They grew up using chopsticks. They can work them easily and quickly.

1, This story is mostly about…….

A-the difference between forks and chopsticks C-chopsticks and how people eat with them.

B- the excitement of using chposticks D-the trouble with using chopsticks

2, The people of China, Japan and Viet Nam work chopsticks well because………

A-they have used them all their lives C-chopsticks come in pairs

B-they use carved and painted chopsticks D-chopsticks are special to the people waho use them

3, One way chopsticks and forks are alike is …….

A-both are made from the same thing C-both are hard to use

B-both are thinner than a pencil D-both are used with one hand

4, Chopsticks are not useful……

A-for people in the West B-for left-handed people C-when you have soup D-for young children

5, Chopsticks are special to the person who uses them because….

A-noone else uses them C-they are made of bone
