the present perfect tense

1.sorry i (not write)haven't been written to you for a long time.

2.they moved to Ho Chi Minh city in 1999 and (live)have lived there since then

3.i don't think ever(meet) have met each other before

4.john and i (be)have been pen pals for nearly three years

5.she says titanic in the bast film she ever ( see) seen

6.jack is traying to give up smoking .He (not have)didn't have cigarettes for a week

7.how long did you(read) read that book?- i (read) read it for a week

8.i'm hungry because i (not have)haven't had breakfast of lunch yet

9.we just (send) sent her a new pen.

10.i (try) tried to learn english for years,but i (not succeed) haven't succeded yet

the present perfect tense

1, i..read.(read) this book for two days, but i .haven't finished.(not/finish) it yet. 2, I ...read.(read) the book you lent me, so you can have it back.

I think it must be like this :>

v. put the verb into the more suitable form, present perfect simple or present perfect progressive.

1, i..have been reading.(read) this book for two days, but i .haven't finished..(not/finish) it yet.

ill in the blank spaces with the present perfect simple or the present perfect progressive of the verb in brackets. Sometimes both tenses are correct.

1. I (clean) ___have been cleaning___ the house all day so I feel tired

2. She (not buy) __hasn't bought___ any new clothes for years

3. My hands are dirty because I (garden) ___have been gardening___

4. We (wait) __have been waiting____ for hours but she (not arrive) __hasn't arrived____ yet
