I couldn't see anything because it was too dark

->It is too..dark for me to see anything..

It was so late that nothing could be done

->It was too.late for anything to be done..

My boyfriend is very short-tempered

My boyfriend loses..his temper very easily...

It is overeating that causes his heart attack

If.he didn't overeat, he wouldn’t have a heart attack.

If it hadn’t rained, we would have gone out
