The Sun is a star which has eight planets that move around it. Many of these planets have moons. The Sun, the eight planets, their moons, and other objects make up our solar system. Based on their distances from the Sun, the eight planets are divided into inner and outer planets. The four inner planets are fairly small and have rocky surfaces. They are Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. Beyond Mars is the asteroid belt with millions of rocky objects. On the far side of the asteroid belt are the outer planets. They include Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. These four planets are huge and are mostly made up of gas. They all have thick layers of clouds and rings around them.

VIII/ Astronomy is the studying of the planets and the stars, and people who study astronomy are astronomers. Telescopes help people to learn about our solar system. In 1609, Galileo used one of the first telescopes to look at the night sky. He saw mountains and craters on the Moon, and four moons around Jupiter. The first telescopes were very small. Later, people made' bigger telescopes, and they discovered new planets and moons.
When Galileo looked at a bright area in the night sky, he discovered that it was made of many stars. Later, people discovered that this is the center of our galaxy, the Milky Way. For a long time, astronomers thought that the Milky Way was the only galaxy in the universe. Then in 1930, an American astronomer called Edwin Hubble discovered another galaxy. Now we know that there are billions of galaxies in the universe.
Question 1. What is the passage mainly about?
A. Astronomy B. Galileo C. Planets D. The Milky Way
Question 2. According to the passage, what is true about Galileo?
A. He used the first telescope to look at the sky.
B. Later, he used bigger telescopes to discover other planets and moons.
C. He discovered the existence of a galaxy, which was later known as the Milky Way.
D. Galileo worked with Edwin Hubble to discover another galaxy.
Question 3. What does the word “it” in line 6 refer to?
A. the star B. the sky C. the universe D. the bright area in the night sky
Question 4. According to the passage, which statement is NOT TRUE?
A. The first telescopes were small.
B. The Milky Way was the only galaxy in the universe.
C. The astronomer who discovered the next galaxy after the Milky Way was an American.
D. Our universe has billions of galaxies.
write an essay about planets in the solar system
The Solar System is made up of all the planets that orbit our Sun. In addition to planets, the Solar System also consists of moons, comets, asteroids, minor planets, dust and gas. The inner solar system contains the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. The main asteroid belt lies between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. The planets of the outer solar system are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune (Pluto is now classified as a dwarf planet).
Everything in the Solar System orbits or revolves around the Sun. The Sun contains around 98% of all the material in the Solar System. The larger an object is, the more gravity it has. Because the Sun is so large, its powerful gravity attracts all the other objects in the Solar System towards it. At the same time, these objects, which are moving very rapidly, try to fly away from the Sun, outward into the emptiness of outer space.
The result of the planets trying to fly away, at the same time that the Sun is trying to pull them inward is that they become trapped half-way in between. Balanced between flying towards the Sun and escaping into space, they spend eternity orbiting around their parent star.
The Planets orbit in the same direction (counter-clockwise looking down from above the Sun’s North Pole); all but Venus, Uranus and Pluto also rotate in that same sense. Mercury has the fastest elliptical orbit,
48 km per second. It has the shortest revolution at 88 days. Pluto has an orbital speed of 5 km per second. It takes 248 years for Pluto to make one complete revolution.
The Solar System has eight planets, arranged in order of distance from closest to farthest from the sun: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune. Mercury is the planet closest to the sun and it's also the smallest, only slightly larger than Earth's moon. It's a planet in the solar system named after the Roman gods. The 2nd Planet in the Solar System – Venus is the second planet from the Sun, Venus is the twin size of Earth. The surface has many different mountains and volcanoes. It is name after the roman god mercury , who was the fast flying messenger of the god. Earth is the third planet closest to the solar system, and the only planet with life. The fourth planet closest to the sun is Mars and the second smallest planet in the solar system. It is named after the roman god of war. The 5th planet in the Solar System – Jupiter is a gas giant. This is the largest planet in the system our sun. This is a planet named after the god of thunder and lightning. 6th Planet in the Solar System – Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun, Saturn is best known for its rings. It is name after roman god of agriculture. Uranus - the seventh planet in the Solar System has extremely strange and interesting features. Uranus is the first planet in the Solar System to be discovered using only a telescope. 8th planet in the Solar System – Neptune is the eighth planet from the sun, Neptune is about the same size as Uranus. It is name after the roman god of the sea

A planet is a body in space that revolves around a star. There are nine planets in our solar system, and these nine planets travel around the sun. The names of the planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. Planets travel in orbits around their stars . All of the planets of the solar system revolve in elliptical orbits. In other words, their orbits are like large, flat circles. The time that it takes a planet to make one revolution around the sun is called its year. The Greek were the first people to recognize and give names to some of the planets. The word planet comes from a Greek word meaning wanderer. If a person wanders, this means that he goes from one place to another and does not have a home. The Greek thought that the planets “wandered” in the sky. However, modern scientists can predict the movement of the planets very accurately
____ 1/ A planet revolves around the Earth.
____2/ Venus, Mars and Neptune are planets and stars.
____ 3/ The Greek were the first to recognize some of the planets.
____ 4/ The planets in our solar system travel around the sun and in elliptical orbits
__TRUE__ 1/ A planet revolves around the Earth.
__TRUE__2/ Venus, Mars and Neptune are planets and stars.
__TRUE__ 3/ The Greek were the first to recognize some of the planets.
__TRUE__ 4/ The planets in our solar system travel around the sun and in elliptical orbits .
Sao đúng hết vậy ta ( có thể câu 2 là FALSE nhé bạn ) tớ học Anh Văn cũng không tốt lắm đâu . Đúng thì like cho tớ vui vưới nhé !

VI.Read the passage carefully, tlien decide whot hen the following, statement are true T) or false (F)
There are nine planets in our solar system. These planets each have their atmosphere and environmental conditions. Scientists have been trying to research other planets to see if it is possible for life to exist on the other eight own bodies in space.
Mercury and Pluto are probably the most difficult to research because of their position in the solar system. Mercury is so close to the sun that with our current technology a space shuttle would burn up before it even reached its atmosphere. Pluto is so far away that some scientists believe that it may not even be a planot but a large asteroid or comet. A space shuttle can not trave that far away because it is so far away from the sun that it would freeze.
Many scientists also believe that our solar system is not alone in the uni- with us. It is difficult to know if there is life present elaewhere in the universe. for many years to come. yerse. Many believe there are several other systems that share the uhiverse .The universe is a complex structure of space that may continue to be a mysterey for many years to come
32. There are nine planets in our solar system, besides Earth.
33. It is difficult to study the planet Mercury because it is very close to the sun.
34. We don't know much about Pluto even though we can see it up close
35. Pluto may not be a planet, according to some scientists.
36. Scientists have got enough information about the universe
