*Ingredients: _Rice _Water _Salt _Large pot

Step 1: Measure two cups of rice and three and a half cups of water into the pot. Let the rice soak for at least half an hour or as long as four hours.

Step 2: Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and stir.

Step 3: Place the pot over high heat and bring the water to a boil. Turn the heat to medium low and cover the pot, leaving the lid slightly off on one side to vent. Cook for 10 minutes - but DO NOT stir the rice while cooking!

Step 4: After 10 minutes, check to see if the rice has absorbed all of the water by pulling the rice away from the center with a fork to create a hole. If there is still water, continue cooking for 5 to 10 minutes or until the liquid has been absorbed.

Step 5: Remove the pot from the heat and place the lid on securely. Allow the rice to stand for 10 minutes before serving.

Yellow sticky rice is very easy to make. Firstly, you need soak sticky rice with water for more than five hours. Secondly, you rinse rice and drain it. Thirdly, you mix it with tumeric extract and wait for 10 mins. Forthly, you add coconut and salt into it, then you mix well. Finally, you steam it for 30 mín and checked. Ingredients

Serves 8

500 Grams Glutinous rice 1½ Tablespoon Turmeric powder 2 Dried tamarind skin 200 Grams Coconut milk (from 1 grated coconut) 20 White peppercorns 6 Screw pine leaves 1 Teaspoon Salt, to taste
Instructions:

Step 1

To cook yellow glutinous rice, first soak well rinsed glutinous rice with tumeric powder and tamarind skins, preferably overnight.

Step 2

Boil some water in a wok when about to steam the soaked yellow glutinous rice.

Step 3

Line a steaming pan with screw pine leaves.

Step 4

Evenly spoon yellow glutinous rice and white peppercorns into steaming pan.

Step 5

Add diluted coconut milk into rice at 10 minutes intervals until rice is almost cooked.

Step 6

Add concentrated coconut milk into almost cooked rice and let cook for another 10 minutes.

Step 7

Remove screw pine leaves from the yellow glutinous rice before serving.

Step 8

And we're done! This sticky yet fragrant glutinous rice is usually served with curries. The colour yellow signifies good fortune, wealth and royalty.
