X GAMES SUPERSTARS

Sports in the X Games are always exciting and often dangerous. The games started in 1995 when 500,000 fans travelled to Newport in the USA and watched sports like BMX, skateboarding and motocross.

Our programme today looks at two skateboarders who decided to leam to skateboard when they were very young. They competed in the X Games and became big stars - Tom Schaar, the youngest gold medallist in the history of the games, and Alana Smith, the youngest silver medallist.

LEARN THIS! Superlative adjectives

a. We add -est to short adjectives. (Chúng ta thêm -est vào các tính từ ngắn.)

rich – richer – richest   slow -slower -slowest

b. Sometimes the spelling changes. (Đôi khi cách viết có thể thay đổi.)

foggy- foggier – the foggiest hot - hotter - the hottest

LEARN THIS! Present tense contrast

We use:

a. the (1) present simple for something that happens regularly, always or never.

b. the (2) _____ for something that happens at this moment.

c. the (3) _____ for something that happens around this time.

d. the (4) _____ for stating a fact.

e. the (5) _____ with certain verbs that we do not usually use in continuous tenses: believe, know, like, love, need, understand, want, etc.

f. the (6) _____ for future arrangements.
