Most people know hip hop as a style of music but in fact hip hop is more than just the music. it is the words, the dance and generally a whole culture of young people who sing it, dance it and live it.

It began its history in the Bronx are of New York City as early as the 1970s. But hip hop music did not start from nothing. Like all music, it had its beginnings in another kind of music.

In the case of hip hop, this music is African American music, and some even say African music. Since the 1990s, hip hop has also become very popular in other parts of the world. For example, in Europe, Africa, and Asia it is the most popular style of music for teenagers. Hip hop has already been around for almost 40 years. Like rock and roll, it will probably be around for at least another 40 years.

UK summer music festival

Held on a farm, the Glastonbury Festival is the most well-known and popular festival in the UK. It began in 1970 and was attended by one thousand five hundred people each paying an admission price of £1 – the ticket included free milk from the farm. Since then the Glastonbury Festival has gone from strength to strength – in 2004 one hundred and fifty thousand fans attended, paying £112 for tickets to the three-day event. Many students listen to music while they are studying, and say that it helps them learn. Many parents and teachers say that music is just distracting, and that students are better studying in silence. Who is right? In a study, some scientists asked three groups of students to listen to a piece of music by Mozart or a relaxation tape for ten minutes, or just sit in silence for ten minutes.
