Động từ bất quy tắc (Irregular Verbs) là động từ diễn tả một hành động diễn ra trong quá khứ và không có quy tắc nhất định khi chia ở các thì quá khứ, quá khứ hoàn thành hay hiện tại hoàn thành .

Chúng ta thường dùng động từ bất quy tắc trong những trường hợp sau đây:
Động từ bất quy tắc được dùng cho thì quá khứ đơn, hiện tại hoàn thành và quá khứ hoàn thành.
Động từ bất quy tắc diễn tả hành động đã xảy ra trong quá khứ (có xác định rõ thời gian) hoặc hành động xảy ra từ trong quá khứ kéo dài đến hiện tại và sẽ xảy ra trong tương lai (đôi khi không xác định được ngày, tháng, năm, giờ).
Sử dụng động từ bất quy tắc nhằm diễn tả hành động xảy ra chính xác ở đâu, thời gian nào như là để thông báo sự việc hoặc muốn đặt câu với động từ bất quy tắc như muốn hỏi để tìm kiếm thông tin.
Có hai loại động từ bất quy tắc: động từ bất quy tắc ở cột hai (dùng cho quá khứ đơn), động từ bất quy tắc ở cột ba (dùng cho hiện tại hoàn thành, quá khứ hoàn thành). Vì thế các bạn phải học cho kỹ, học theo thứ tự a,b,c cho dễ, sau đó làm bài tập, đặt câu, làm văn cho nhớ động từ.
Để tạo cho mình hứng thú khi học động từ bất quy tắc thì bạn nên làm bài tập theo kiểu trắc nghiệm và điền vào chỗ trống để nhớ động từ bất quy tắc thật lâu.
Bạn nên thực hành các mẫu đàm thoại đối với một số bạn trong nhóm để luyện động từ bất quy tắc và cũng luyện cách phát âm.

Ý nào không đúng khi sử dụng từ mượn?

+ Nên cho bộ phận hẹn giờ làm việc khi sử dụng các dụng cụ hay thiết bị điện, vì bộ phận này sẽ tự động ngắt mạch sau khoảng thời gian đã hẹn và nhờ thế sẽ tiết kiệm điện năng.
