The new year festival is so important to me and also to all Vietnamese citizens. The reason is because we get more days off from work and study, and therefore we have more time to spend with our families and our loved ones. It is also a great time to think about what we have done in the previous year, and to make plans for the upcoming year.
There are some common things that people do during this festival. Perhaps the most important thing is that people who work and study in big cities would go back to their hometown to celebrate the new year with their families and relatives. The new year festival is one of very few occasions that families can gather together, so it is easy to understand why everyone in Vietnam expects this festival so much. Another thing that we usually do is that we give children some “lucky money” with the hope that it will bring fortune to those kids. We also have some other activities such as making “chung” cake, visiting temples and pagodas… and so on.
The Lunar New Year festival takes place because it is one of the most well-known traditions of Vietnam. Our people have been celebrating this occasion for thousands of years, and although there has been some recent argument about whether we should stop celebrating this festival, I do not think this activity will come to an end soon, at least not in the short term.

- Quy Nhon is a small city in the Central Coast Vietnam. It belongs to Binh Dinh province that is known as martial arts land of Vietnam. This is not a tourism destination so it's peaceful, quiet, friendly people, cheap price. Like another Coast cities, it has very fresh sea food. Now, some places are developing to attract tourists but if you want to find somewhere not crowded, this is.
You can go to the top of Vung Chua mountain by motorbike (from Ghenh Rang, near the Queen beach). It takes about 15 minutes. This is the best place to see all of the beautiful city, graceful sea with natural beauty of Thi Nai lagoon, Phuong Mai peninsula and Thi Nai bridge - the longest cross-sea bridge of Vietnam.

Talk about some natural disaster
Environmental pollution is a natural disaster that humanity has suffered over time. Carcasses, animal carcasses, scattered everywhere make the clean air disappear instead of foul air. Life is at stake. Today, there are many good and useful programs on the environment: green knight, golden environment, rubbish hand ... and also people react. But the environment has not been thoroughly improved. There are many ways to protect the environment: do not litter indiscriminately, do not paint, graffiti, ... I myself are also trying to do these things. Everyone let's join hands!
Natural disasters are scary for everyone. Tragic events – whether it’s a hurricane, earthquake, tornado, tsunami or other disaster – are not easy to comprehend or accept even for the most mature.
Although discussing a natural disaster with children is a challenge, it is also very important. Even if your teen hasn’t talked to you about the disaster, there is little doubt that they have heard about it from the Internet, friends, school or other venues. They may have received information that was incorrect or frightening. Parents and teachers should take the opportunity to have a discussion with teens about tragedies. Here are some suggestions from the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry for how to do that:
Create an open and supportive environment where teens know they can ask questions. Be available, positive, and open to all subjects. In listening to children, adults can ease children’s worries by correcting any misunderstandings and confusions. At the same time, it’s best not to force children to talk about things unless, and until, they’re ready. Give children honest answers and information. It is important for teens to discuss the event freely and express their concerns and views. Let them know that you think their questions and concerns are important and appropriate. But stay honest; children will usually know, or eventually find out, if you’re “making things up,” which may affect their ability to trust you in the future. Be prepared to repeat information and explanations several times. Some information may be hard to accept or understand. Asking the same question over and over may also be a way for a teen to ask for reassurance. Remember that children tend to personalize situations. For example, they may worry about their own safety and the safety of immediate family members. They may also worry about friends or relatives who travel or who live far away. It will help alleviate fear if your family develops its own disaster plan so your child feels some level of control over the situation. Be reassuring, but don’t make unrealistic promises. It’s fine to let children know that they are safe in their house or in their school, but you can’t promise that there won’t be another natural disaster. Tweens and teens already understand the impact of natural disasters and have likely discussed them in school. Kids at this age really want to know “why.” Unfortunately, this is one instance where a parent simply doesn’t have all the answers, and you should admit it. Explain that there are events we cannot predict or control, but they are random and rare. Let teens know that lots of people are helping the families affected by the disaster. Identify ways for your child to help. When they reach out to help others in a time of need, children gain self esteem and a sense of how to respond constructively. If available, your children might participate in school or community projects designed to help raise money, supplies and materials for the disaster area. Your child might want to do extra chores or a project to help raise money for the relief funds. Tweens and teens learn from watching their parents and teachers. They are very interested in how you respond to world events so monitor your own reactions and conversations. Let your child know how you feel about the recent events, which can help children talk about their own feelings as well. It is ok if your child does not want to talk about their thoughts or fears, but encourage them to express themselves in another way, such as writing or drawing. Limit your teen’s exposure to media coverage of the event. The repetition of such scenes can be disturbing and confusing.Children who are preoccupied with questions or concerns about natural disasters should be evaluated by a trained and qualified mental health professional. Signs that a child may need additional help include: ongoing sleep disturbances, intrusive thoughts or worries, and recurring fears about death, leaving parents or going to school. Many children express anxiety through physical aches and pains, such as headaches or stomach aches. An increase in such symptoms without apparent medical cause may be a sign that a child is feeling anxious or overwhelmed. If these behaviors persist, ask your child’s pediatrician, family physician or school counselor to help arrange an appropriate referral.
As parents, teachers and caring adults, we can best help teens cope by listening and responding in an honest, consistent and supportive manner. Fortunately, most children are quite resilient and by creating an open environment where they feel free to ask questions, we can help reduce the risk of lasting emotional difficulties.

Welcome to Quang Ninh, a wonderful land situated in the northeast of Vietnam, My hometown is not only an industrial area but also a famous travel destination. However, first of all, let me tell you a local legend. Long long ago, a Dragon descended from the sky and spat out thousand of pearls when Viet Nam was being attacked by foreign ships. The pearls then became a multitude of small islands and prevented the enemy from advancing further. Nowadays, the natural architecture is one of the most spectacular sight not only in Vietnam but also on the whole world. Its name, which is based on the folk-tale, is literally translated as "Descending Dragons". It is Ha Long Bay - a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. And now, we will take a snapshot about the wonder to know more about it as well as raise the admiration of nature's creation.
Administratively, the bay belongs to Ha Long city, Cam Pha town and a part of Van Don district. The bay features thousands of limestone karsts and isles in various sizes and shapes. It also is the center of a larger zone which includes Bai Tu Long Bay to the northest and Cat Ba Island to the southwest. These zones share similar geological, geographical, climate and cultural characters.
The bay consist of a dense cluster of over 3000 limestone monolithic islands; each topped with thick jungle vegetation, rising spectacularly from the ocean. Several of the islands are hollow, with enormous caves. Dau Go is the largest one in the area. It is also the place in which General Tran Hung Dao and his sholdiers hid the wood to defeat the Mongol invaders. The wonderful hands of nature, along with the imagination of people, makes stones, islands, caves, which have no sense, become lively by tales and beautiful names. 989 of the islands have been given names. Many of them have acquired their names as a result of interpretation of their unusual shapes. Such names include Voi Islet (elephant), Ga Choi Islet (fighting cock), and Mai Nha Islet (roof).
Ha Long Bay also includes two big islands, Tuan Chau and Cat Ba, that have permanent inhabitant as well as tourist facilities as standardized hotels and beautiful beaches. Besides, there are a number of beautiful beaches on the smaller islands, for example: Titov, Quan Lạn, Soi Sim... Especially, when you're on the top of a mountain on Titov Island, you will find out an interesting secret: from different heights, you can see completely new scenes of Ha Long Bay. However, it is always "a stone wonder on the sky" as Nguyen Trai said.
In the past, Ha Long was known for the tale about the Dragon and her children. Nowadays, the children of Dragons and Tales are working hard all day and night among the spacious sea. A community of around 1,600 people now live on Ha Long Bay in four fishing villages: Cua Van, Ba Hang, Cong Tau, Vong Vieng in Hung Thang commune, Ha Long city. They live on floating houses and are sustained through fishing and marine aquaculture. Additionally, the areas ply the shallow waters for 200 species of fish and 450 different kinds of mollusks. Ha Long Bay is natural, it obviously is the living space of a large number of valuable animals like bantams, antelopes, lizards, monkeys,... which need protecting from illegally hunting
Another specific feature of Halong Bay is the abundance of lakes inside the limestone islands. For example, Dau Be island has six enclosed lakes. All these island lakes occupy drowned dolines within fengcong karst.
Hạ Long Bay has experienced at least 500 million years in various geological states oforogeny, marine transgression and marine regression. During the Ordovician and Silurianperiods, Hạ Long Bay was deep sea. During the Carboniferou sand Permian periods, Hạ Long Bay was at shallow sea level. Due to a simultaneous combination of ideal factors such as thick, pale, grey, and strong limestone layers, which are formed by fine-grained materials; hot and moist climate and slow tectonic process as a whole; Hạ Long Bay has had a complete karst evolution for 20 million years. There are many types of karst topography in the bay, such as karst field.
Some of the most remarkable geological events in Hạ Long Bay's history in the last 1,000 years, include the advance of the sea, the raising of the bay area, strong erosion that has formed coral, and, pure blue and heavily salted water. This process of erosion by seawater has deeply engraved the stone, contributing to its fantastic beauty. Present-day Hạ Long Bay is the result of this long process of geological evolution that has been influenced by so many factors. Tourists visiting Hạ Long Bay are not only treated to one of the natural wonders of the world, but also to a precious geological museum that has been naturally preserved in the open air for the last 300 million years.
With the remarkable features, Hạ Long Bay has been recognized as World Heritage Site by UNESCO 2 times, in 1994 and 2000 for its outstading, universal aesthetic value and its outstanding geological and geomorphological value respectively.
Ha Long is the place in which mountains meet ocean, land meets sky. It is the most wonderful combination of heavenly and historical beauty. Its life lasts forever along with the length of history and the severe of time. It is also the life of people working hard on among a wonder. It is immortal among waves of which we pride as a a beautiful part of the West Sea of Vietnam.
And now, it's time for us to try our best to support for Hạ Long becoming one of new 7 wonders. It will be a chance to improve the preservation for the sight here and promote Vietnam's pictures to our friends in 5 continents as well.
