Bat Trang Porcelain Village is a traditional pottery-making village, which is located in the Northern of the Red River, Bat Trang town, Gia Lam district, Ha Noi. The pottery here is made of a special kind of clay – the white clay.
The craftsmen only use their hands to knead the clay into the shape of the bowl, flower vase, etc. Then, they draw lively pictures or patterns on the products and glaze them. After that, these kneaded-clays will be put into the kiln for heating.

The pottery products of Bat Trang Porcelain Village are always famous for the skillfulness, subtleness and the diversity of product’s shapes such as small bowls, large bowls, flower vases, pots, thuribles, etc. Especially, all the handicrafts of this pottery-making village are waterproof and fade-resistant.

The glaze of Bat Trang is also very subtle and unique with the secret recipe, which is handed down from generation to generation. Those values have created such an irresistible attraction and appealing feature for Bat Trang village. This is the reason why this traditional handicraft village can attract so many tourists as well.

Life in modern cities truly causes a lot of nuisances. In the first place, citizens have to deal with traffic congestion every day. This problem is even worse in the rush hour when so many people run out to work and are stuck on streets for hours. Next, high cost of living is also a serious issue in the city, especially in metropolitan cities. More and more people find it difficult to live on their modest salaries when prices are going up all the time. Financial pressure makes city dwellers become constantly stressed and tired. It is a good idea to try Vietnamese dishes as people in Hanoi are so well known for making and tasting food. They have a wide range of food steamed rice roll, La Vong grilled fish, noodle with chicken or beef, spring roll….  They are Hanoi’s specialities that every visitor must have a try when coming there.

I walked along the street and dropped myself in a sweet smell of Milk flower, the wind blew my hair, and I felt so great.
Milk flower on the streets of Hanoi goes deeply inside the memories of Hanoi people and all visistors who have come to Hanoi. It also goes into the music, the poetry, movies. Those are some good ways to introduce Milk flower to everybody. For me, means of communication such as internet or TV are the best ways to introduce Milk flower for all over the world. It is simple when everyone looks at all wonderful pictures or images of Milk flower, they will want to come and enjoy it. In Japan, they have cherry blossom, in Netherlands, they have tulip…How can we know about it? That is all thanks to means of communication. We must let them know that in Hanoi, we have Milk flower. Therefore, the things we need to do now are we should have a website about Milk Flower with pictures, clips, songs, poetry in many languages (if we can)… or we can hold more activities which relate to Milk flower. We must have some more activities to advertise this kind of flower. That was what I think when I saw Milk flower for the first time.
I love Hanoi. I love the early cold winter nights with Milk flower’s smell. I hope Milk flowers will be grown more on Hanoi streets. Milk flower is a precious gift that nature gives to us, especially to Hanoi, our beloved capital.

As you know, live in the countryside is something that people in the city dream about. Why? Because there are many advantages to live in the countryside. First, you can enjoy peace and quietness. The air is fresh. There is less traffic so it's safe for children. The people here is thoughful, friendly and generous. The special thing that people like living in the countryside is the cost of living here ususlly cheaper so this is an idea place to raise the child. Second, the rural people living by farming and raising the cattle so the food is fresh, cheap and delicous. You can enjoy interesting competitions such as wrestling, blowing rice, ... It's very good Finally, you can remember your childhood. You can see many child plays the folk games, herd the buffaloes, fly kites,... in the glassland. When see the spectacle, everybody also feel happy and peaceful. Oh live in the countryside have many advantages but it's a few disadvantage. The roads are narrow and degrade. It's very hard to find the good job. But I like living in the country. If someone ask where I would rather live, My definite answer is peaceful and queit countryside. What about you?. I have had a close friend since I was at secondary school. Her name is Thuy, which means blue water and peace in Vietnamese. (Appearance) She is one head higher than me with a short black hair. Well, she likes sports so I always see her in sportswear. (Personality) I guess, her appearance has shown that she is an outgoing person, and yes, she is. I remember the first time I met her at school. She always smiled and made jokes to other students in the class. I felt she was easy-going, so I talked to her. Among many programs and channels available on TV these days such as the current news programs, sport programs, entertaining programs, educational programs and movie programs, etc., I like the program "the World of Animals" most.
This program is usually shown on VTV2 everyday at 8.30 in the evening. It often lasts about 45 minutes. In this program, stories of the life of many animals in the world are told in a very lively way. For example, people can watch films about monkeys, snakes, tigers, insects, birds, sea turtles, sharks etc. ... and even the penguins and the polar bears in the far North. While watching these films, I find the everyday life activities and habits of these animals very interesting and full mysteries. Watching this program makes me very well informed and relaxed after a day of work.

At school, I have to learn a lot of subjects such as Maths, Literature, Biology, History, English,....but my favorite subject is English because of these reasons: English is my favorite subject at school for many reasons. Firstly, it's an international language so it's a compulsory subject in most of countries in the world, and study English well gives us more changes to have a better job in future. Secondly, studying English is very fun and interesting, you can study English through books, newspapers or English programme on TV, radio. Finally, speaking English well gives us more confident to speak before everyone not only in English but also in Vietnamese. English is one of the most interesting languages that you should try to study.

In the evening, everyone will make banh chung, a traditional Vietnamese dish. On Tet, they will eat banh chung together and visit relatives together. And most especially, kids like us will receive lucky money. In the evening, we can watch colorful fireworks in the sky. I love Tet very much, every year, I look forward to Tet.

Today I’m going to tell you about one of the biggest, oldest traditional festival and has the widest popular range in Vietnam, which is Tet Holiday.

Tet marks (=celebrates) the arrival of spring and is the most important celebration in Vietnamese culture and it has the date falling in (which falls in) = takes place around late January or early February according to the Lunar Calendar.

Tết is also an occasion for family reunions. When Tet comes around the corner, most Vietnamese people return to their families to visit their family members, to worship at the family altar or visit the graves of their ancestors in their homeland as a sign of respect.

Many Vietnamese people prepare for Tet by cooking special holiday food which includes giò, xôi, canh măng anh banh chung - an indispensable (= absolutely necessary) dish that is tightly packed sticky with meat and mung beans filling, wrapped in banana leaves

Traditionally, every household is decorated by yellow apricot blossoms (hoa mai) in the central and the southern parts of Vietnam; or peach blossoms (hoa đào) in the northern part.

Many customs are practiced around Tet. Children often receive a red envelope containing money from their elders after giving them traditional Tet greetings. During Tet days people also visit relatives and friends to wish them all a happy new year. Local pagodas are popular spots as well, as people go there to wish for a better year to come for their families.

Tet holiday is the only occasion that people that people start forgetting about the troubles of the past year and hope for a better upcoming year.
