The picture shows Benjamin Franklin flying a kite with a key attached to it in a stormy sky with dark clouds and lightning. This experiment, known as the kite experiment, was conducted by Franklin in 1752 to test his hypothesis that lightning was a form of electricity.
By flying the kite in the stormy sky and attaching a key to it, Franklin was attempting to capture electrical charges from the lightning in the key and prove that lightning was a form of electricity.
The kite experiment was very important in the history of science and helped to establish Benjamin Franklin as one of the most brilliant minds of his time.
