Ba: Do you watch TV, Nga?
Nga: Not often. There aren’t many good programs for teenagers.
Ba: What kind of programs do you like?
Nga: I like to watch programs about teenagers in other countries. I want to know what they do, what they wear, what music they like.....
Ba: There are some programs for young people.
Nga: But older people make them. They don’t know what we like.
Ba: I like sports shows, cartoons and movies.
Nga: I don’t really like watching sports – I prefer taking part in them. And most of the movies on TV are very old.
Ba: There are plenty of music programs.
Nga: Yes, there are. But they don’t play the kind of music I like.
Ba: What are you going to do this evening?

The world of work experience
Forget relaxing with friends. The end of the school year is a time for working for most fourteen- and fifteen-year-olds in the UK. Around half a million teenagers in the UK do work experience every summer. This is a useful way to find out which jobs you might enjoy in the future. It is also important when you apply for university, or get a job in the future. For example, if you want to study to be an engineer, you could do work experience with a car manufacturer. Other popular work experience placements are in teaching, marketing, media, and finance. Placements usually last two weeks. Some teenagers have no idea what job they want to do. In this case, they need to think about their passions. For example, if you are interested in music, you could work in a music shop. Alternatively, if you love animals, you could work on a farm.
My work experience: Hi, I’m Paul, and I’ve just done two weeks’ work experience on a farm near where I live. It was brilliant. I enjoyed giving the animals their food in the morning. I also made sure the animals had exercise and I kept everything clean. At night, I helped to put the animals inside. It was hard work but I loved it. I hope the farm will give me a job when I finish school.

Read the task below. Then listen to two students doing the task. Which activities do they consider? Which one do they agree on?
You and a friend are planning a day out doing an adventure activity. Discuss with your friend what you are going to do. Give reasons for your opinions. Agree on an activity.
Lời giải:
They consider kayaking, surfing, parkour, karting and hiking.
(Họ xem xét chèo thuyền kayak, lướt sóng, trò chơi parkour, đua xe kart và đi bộ đường dài.)
They agree on karting.
(Họ đồng ý đua xe kart.)
Bài nghe:
A: So, we’re going to do an adventure activity on our day out. What do you think we should do?
B: Well, I’m quite keen on kayaking.
A: Really? I’d rather go surfing than kayaking.
B: The problem with surfing is that the sea is too cold at this time of year.
A: Yes, I suppose you’re right. What about parkour?
B: Sorry, but I don’t really fancy parkour.
A: Why not?
B: Well, don’t you think it would be dangerous? I’ve never done it before. I’m sure I’d injure myself.
A: OK. How about karting? I like the idea of that.
B: Yes, I think karting would be fun. But it’s quite expensive, isn’t it? Hiking is another option.
A: Hiking would certainly be cheaper, but less fun in my opinion. OK, I think we need to make a decision. There’s a good karting circuit near the shopping centre. I don’t think it’s very expensive. So, overall I think karting would be better. B OK. That’s settled then. Let’s go karting.
A: Thật sao?
A: Ừ nhỉ, bạn nói đúng.
A: Sao thế?
A: Được.
