Life is a process, not a goal. Choosing where to spend your time, to spend your life has always been something to wonder by many. Countryside in general is a great place to live, however, also there are some disadvantages living there compared to in the city as well.

On one hand, the living environment in the countryside is fresh, clean and friendly in most cases. You don't have to worry about the industrial air, dust or pollution of the million vehicles commuting all day and all night. One more plus thing is that you are surrounded by green trees. There are spaces for you to farm, to enjoy planting and raising animals. It is most suitable for nature lovers.

On the other hand, there are high chances that it will be difficult to find certain forms of convenience like shops, airports, traffics, hospitals, entertainments, ... The choices of schools for your kids will also be limited. Travelling might be an ordeal sometimes since the public transports will not be very convenient as living in the city.

One more thing to consider is the people. In general, people in the countryside are more friendly and willing to give a hand. In the city however, everyone is busy going about their life, you are more likely to find yourself lonely in a crowded city than a lovely little town in the countryside. 

Whichever kind of place you choose to live, it should be suitable for your life style, your family and most of all, your long-term plan of living. As long as you're happy, it does not matter the city or the countryside after all.

Life in the city, compared with life in the country

In my opinion, urban life or rural life has its own advantages and disadvantages.
First, living in the city we may enjoy those benefits.
- Communication and transportation systems are better. There are so many means of communication and transport that we can choose the ones we best. We can get in touch with a friend or talk to him by phone without having to go out of home.
- Thanks to electricity network and running water, our material lives are more comfortable. Supermarkets, markets and shops are found everywhere and we can buy anything we need providing that we can afford it.
- Urban life provides us with all sorts of entertainments: televisions, radios, movies, theatres, concerts and famous recreation centers.
- Living in town we can improve our knowledge easily by attending any schools, universities or evening classes where experienced teachers and professors are ready to satisfy our thirst for knowledge.
Besides its advantages, urban life also has its disadvantages:
- Our health is in danger: pollution by factories and heavy traffic may cause serious diseases to all of us.
- Evil influence upon the young generation by obscene video films is inevitable.
- Violent deaths happen regularly in such a crowded city with all kinds of vehicles.
On the contrary, rural life seems ideal to all of us, especially to the old.
- We can enjoy fresh, cool air and behold beautiful landscapes in the country.
- How safe and delighted we are when we can sleep a sound sleep at any time of the day without being disturbed by sirens of cars or by deafening noises from manufacturing factories.
- Our social lives in the country are easier: we can eat the food and vegetables we grow, the chickens and goats we raise. The countrymen lead a very simple life and they are quick at mutual Giúp in any case.
Apart from these advantages, living in the country we may meet lots of difficulties too.
- Communication and transportation are obstructed by lack of means of transport or by floods in the rainy season.
- Our knowledge is limited by being short of mass media.
- Our social and physical lives are not as comfortable as those in town because of lack of electricity and medical care.
In a nutshell, our love for town life or country life depends on our outlook and age. As for me, I always prefer rural life to urban life.

Ô nhiễm tiếng ồn (Tiếng Anh: Noise pollution hoặc noise disturbance) là tiếng ồn trong môi trường vượt quá ngưỡng nhất định gây khó chịu cho người hoặc động vật. Hầu hết ở các nước, nguồn gây ô nhiễm tiếng ồn chủ yếu từ tiếng ồn ngoài trời như phương tiện giao thông, vận tải, xe có động cơ, máy bay và tàu hỏa.

Tiếng ồn giao thông có thể được giảm thiểu bằng việc sử dụng các rào chắn tiếng ồn , hạn chế lưu lượng xe lưu thông trên đường phố, thay đổi kết cấu bề mặt đường, hạn chế những xe hạng nặng , sử dụng công nghệ để kiểm soát giao thông: dòng xe trơn để giảm phanh, thiết kế lốp xe, đặc biệt là tiếng còi nên được sử dụng hạn chế. Một yếu tố quan trọng trong việc áp dụng chiến lược này là mô hình máy tính cảnh báo tiếng ồn đường bộ , có khả năng giải quyết ở từng thời điểm cụ thể, cho biết tình trạng đường, thời tiết, cũng như hoạt động giao thông, nhằm giảm thiểu và giảm thiểu chi phí cho nhà nước. Việc giảm hoạt động xây dựng giao thông là rất hạn chế, nên tìm các giải pháp và có kế hoạch quy hoạch đô thị một cách khoa học, tránh phát sinh tiếng ồn.

Tiếng ồn máy bay có thể được giảm bằng cách sử dụng những động cơ phản lực không gây tiếng ồn. Thay đổi đường bay và thời gian của đường băng cũng là một giải pháp quan trọng, những người được hưởng lợi đầu tiên là các cư dân gần các sân bay.

Tiếng ồn công nghiệp đã được giải quyết kể từ năm 1930 thông qua thiết kế lại thiết bị công nghiệp, bằng cách các rào cản vật lý tại nơi làm việc. Trong những năm gần đây, đã có nhiều chương trình và sáng kiến trong một nỗ lực để chống phơi nhiễm tiếng ồn nghề nghiệp. Các chương trình này thúc đẩy việc mua các công cụ và thiết bị chạy êm, khuyến khích các nhà sản xuất thiết kế lại thiết bị nhiệt để giảm thiểu tiếng ồn đạt hiệu quả nhất.
