Ha Long Bay (Vietnamese: Vịnh Hạ Long, IPA: [vînˀ hâːˀ lawŋm] (listen), Chinese: 下龍灣) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and popular travel destination in Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam. The name Hạ Long means "descending dragon". Administratively, the bay belongs to Ha Long City, Cam Pha City, and is a part of Van Don District. The bay features thousands of limestone karsts and isles in various shapes and sizes. Ha Long Bay is a center of a larger zone which includes Bai Tu Long Bay to the northeast, and Cat Ba Islandto the southwest. These larger zones share a similar geological, geographical, geomorphological, climate, and cultural characters.

Ha Long Bay has an area of around 1,553 km² (600 sq mi), including 1,960–2,000 islets, most of which are limestone. The core of the bay has an area of 334 km² (129 sq mi) with a high density of 775 islets.^[1] The limestone in this bay has gone through 500 million years of formation in different conditions and environments. The evolution of the karst in this bay has taken 20 million years under the impact of the tropical wet climate.^[2] The geo-diversity of the environment in the area has created biodiversity, including a tropical evergreenbiosystem, oceanic and sea shore biosystem.^[3] Ha Long Bay is home to 14 endemic floral species^[4] and 60 endemic faunal species.^[5]

Historical research surveys have shown the presence of prehistoric human beings in this area tens of thousands years ago. The successive ancient cultures are the Soi Nhu culture around 18,000–7000 BC, the Cai Beo culture 7000–5000 BC^[6] and the Ha Long culture 5,000–3,500 years ago.^[7] Ha Long Bay also marked important events in the history of Vietnam with many artifacts found in Bai Tho Mountain, Dau Go Cave, Bai Chay.^[7]

500 years ago, Nguyen Trai praised the beauty of Ha Long Bay in his verse Lộ nhập Vân Đồn, in which he called it "rock wonder in the sky".^[8] In 1962, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of North Vietnam listed Ha Long Bay in the National Relics and Landscapes publication.^[9] In 1994, the core zone of Ha Long Bay was listed as a World Heritage Site according to Criterion VII, and listed for a second time according to Criterion VIII.^[10]

Hi ! I'm a student in grade 6 of Le hong phong secondary school . It't located on PNL street .It's small but it's beautiful and clean with some big trees in the schoolyard .

There are about 750 students in my school . We wear uniform everyday. At school we have a lot of subject such as : Maths , Literature , English , History , Music , etc . My favourite subject is English . At break time , I often play football or read comics. After school , I help my parents do the housework . I love my school so much .

I prefer to live in a city because i think that life in a city is always more exciting and more comfortable than life in a country or in a small town.
First of all, in cities there is usually something to do or somewhere to go. In the city there is a large access to education an there is easier to find good and ineresting job. Moreover there is a good selection of cinemas, galeries, theaters or restaurants, where people can spand their free time. There is always something interesting and it is impossible to be bored.

In the cities, there are a lot of good shops where we can do the shopping easily and quickly. Moreover there are many sports facilities such as swimming pools, gym halls or tennis courts where people can spend their free time and practis their favourite sports.
Young people in cities are in better situation, than young people in village or in a small town, because young city- dwallers can go to clubs, discos, and spend their leisure time. They have also more opportunities to meet someone.

However living in a big city have some disadvantages. Havy traffic is big problem. Fumes emitted into the atmosphere polutte the air and many city-dwallers suffer from serious medical disorders. Moreover there are many car accidents every day and the noise never stops. There are many cars and it is difficult to find a parking place especially in the centre. In addition the crime rate in cities is very high.
Summing up, in spite of all these disadvantages, living in a city is more exciting, interesting and never dull for me.

I like living in the city because although its very loud but i can do lots of things like eat many delicous food, watch tv, play soccer with out worry to fall into a pond ori can go shopping anytime.

I live in ... province and there are a lot of traffic problem here.First ,there are a lot of people using the roads expecially in rush hours when people run out to work or get home from those places .Second ,there are many vehicle but the roads are narrow and bumpy so there are a lot of traffic problems here.Last but not least ,some children play football on the roads and many animals crossing the roads have blocked traffic here .I think we should obey traffic rules anh traffic signs as well.

Last month, my summer vacation was still boring . I had nothing to do. I could only watch TV, sleep, eat meals all day. These things may be interesting for you, but it's boring with me. I wanted to go on a trip but I didn't had any one.
However, my summer vacation is ok now. I don't have time to watch TV any more because I have many things to do. I go to school to join some extra classes and start to practise being a theacher (because I want to be a teacher in the future). Exspecially, I have joined this forum for 2 weeks, which makes me happy.
Therefore, I think my summer vacation is more and more interesting.

Hue people are very friendly, open-hearted and have sweet voice.
If you have a chance to travel, choose Hue city to visit. In the early morning, viewing the sun rising outside the sea is very interesting. It makes us feel a good new morning, we can enjoy the glow of dawn, breathe the fresh air of the sea together. After viewing the dawn, you have rice spaghetti for breakfast, one of Hue’s specialities. Visiting Hue, you can eat many kind of delicious cakes. I am sure that you will be attractive be these cakes’strange taste as eating at the first times and you will remember this taste forever.
It will be unfortunate if you do not go around to gaze at the Royal Citadel where the kings lived and many historical events happened. This is an occasion for you to become Royalty in beautiful Royal dresses in several minutes to keep memory. The Royal Citadel’s interior is vast, you will be surprised by not only its large area but also its architecture. Here you will have more knowledge about Hue’s history, the Kings and Royalties’s lives in Hue.
