Mệnh đề phụ “when it went bankrupt” ở thì quá khứ nên mệnh đề chính cũng phải ở một thì quá khứ (trong câu này là quá khứ hoàn thành tiếp diễn thể hiện hành động đã đang xảy ra tại thời điểm đó)

He had been working for that company for five months when it went bankrupt = Anh ấy đã đang làm cho công ty đó được năm tháng khi nó phá sản.

When + QKĐG, QKHT/QKHTTD: diễn tả một hành động đã xảy ra ( có thể đã hoàn thành hoặc đang tiếp diễn ) trước một hành động trong quá khứ. Ta thấy vế sau when chia thì quá khứ đơn giản => Đáp án là C. had been working - thì quá khứ hoàn thành tiếp diễn

PLACES FOR PARTIES

Jack is planning a birthday party with twenty stars from the worlds of sport, music and films. But Jack isn't famous - and the stars aren't real. He's planning a Party for 60 guests at Madame Tussauds, the famous waxworks museum. Jack says he's really excited about the party because Angelina Jolie is waiting for him there.

Sue and Olivia are planning a big family party at a famous landmark: the Tower of London. The venue-called the Pavilion- isn't inside the Tower: it's next to it. There's space for 200 guests to have dinner. One wall of the Pavilion has lots of windows and there are amazing views of the Tower at night.
