Tet is grandest and mót important occasion in the year in vietnam. Last tet holiday I have 11 day-off from 19th to 20th january. And I think I shall never forget that holyday. The first day-off I spent all time to relax after along year.
Then I cleaned up my room and helped my mother decorating our house with peach blosson, kumquat tree and other flower. Tet is indispenable Chung cake and last year I leart make it. Tet is a national and family festival. It is an occasion for every Vietnamese to have a good time while thinking about the last year and the next year. At Tet, spring fairs are organized, streets and public buildings are brightly decorated and almost all shops are crowded with people shopping for Tet. At home, every is tidied, special food is cooked,offerings of food, fresh water, flowers and betel are made on the family altar with burning joss- sticks scenting the air. First-footing is made when the lucky visitor comes and children are given lucky money wrapped in a red tiny envelope. Tet is also a time for peace and love. During Tet, children often behave well and friends, relatives and neighbors give each other best wishes for the new year.

When it comes to enjoyment, what I find the most interesting is to go traveling to different places and try the local cuisine there. In my journeys, I was strikingly impressed by many kinds of food, one of which is crispy pancake - also known as Banh Xeo. The ingredients to make flour mixture include rice flour, coconut cream, turmeric, onions and salt, mixed with water. The batter is then added into a frying pan brushed with vegetable oil and forms a thin pancake. After about two minutes, the cooker will scatter some pork, shrimps and sprouts on half of the cake then fold it in half to cover the filling and cook for thirty seconds. The dish is often served with traditional sauce made from fish sauce mixed with lemon, garlic and chilli. An interesting feature about Banh Xeo is the way people eat them. The pancake will be cut into two to three pieces and rolled in sheets of rice paper together with some lettuces. The roll is dipped into the prepared sauce, which creates a stunning combination of flavor. In one bite, customers can feel the crispness, a little bit sweetness, fat and freshness of the vegetables and just want to eat more. To sum up, coming to Vietnam, if you want to explore the culinary culture here, Banh Xeo will be an amazing experience that should not be missed.

Vietnam is famous for its several holiday and festival, especially Tet holiday. It takes place from the first day of the first month of the lunar calendar until at least the third day. Although occurring in short period of time, it is believed to be the most important and popular holiday in Vietnam.
