1.Sau thụ tinh : quả do bầu nhụy biến đổi thành, hạt do noãn phát triển thành. 
Một số cây khi quả hình thành vẫn còn giữ lại 1 bộ phận của hoa. Ví dụ như phần đài hoa vẫn còn lại trên quả của các loại cây: ổi, hồng, cà chua, ... ; phần đầu nhụy, vòi nhụy cũng được giữ lại ở quả :chuối, ngô, ...

các bộ phận của hạt là:  

+ vỏ

+phôi: rễ mầm, thân mầm, lá mầm và chồi mầm.

+chất dinh dưỡng dự trữ: chứa trong lá mầm hoặc trong phôi nhũ
