Lunar New Year or Tet is a traditional festival in Viet Nam. It's the biggest festival in Vietnam. It is held in late January and early February. It's the time when family members reunite and celebrate the occasion together. Tet's preparation lasts many weeks. One or Two dáy before Tet, people make chung cake and Tet cake. Every one is busy buying new clothes, cleaning and decorating their houses and cooking some trditional food such as: jam, picked onion, gio, spring roll, frozen meet,..., Home is often decorated with plants and flowers at this time. Peach blossom is traditional at Tet in the north.While apricot blossom is traditional in the South. Besides, the kumquat tree with its ripe deep orange fruits is popular throughout the country. On the last of the year, preparation for new year is completed. Families have a New Year's Eve supper together and expect the New year's eve. At the mid-night, everyone performs ritusl offering to the ancestor on the New Year's Eve. People believe that what they do on the first day of the year will influence their luckiness during the whole year. On the first day of the year , people visit relatives, friends. neighbors,....      Tet holiday is the biggest and the most important festival in VietNam. Tet often falls between late January and early February. Before Tet, my mother and I go shopping to buy clothes, candies, flowers, fruits and decorative items. My family always cleans and decorates our house together. On the first day of Tet, I don’t go out, I stay at home and sit around the pot of Banh Chung to talk, watch fireworks with my family. On the second day, I go to my grandparents’s house with my family and they give me lucky money. It’s always a nice day because I like to meet my grandparents so much! Next, on the third day, I visit my teachers and send them New Year wishes. Tet Holiday is the biggest annual celebration of Vietnam in the first days of lunar New Year. During these days, people welcome a new coming year with good health, lucks and success. Tet holiday is very special for Vietnamese families to reunite and celebrate together.

The preparation for Tet holiday is taken place very soon because it requires many steps. All members of families clean and redecorate their houses together. Then, they buy food, drink such as cookies, sweets, candied fruit, melon seeds...to offer their guests and to store because in this occasion, many shops are closed. A branch of peach flower or a kumquat tree cannot be absent from every home during these special days. Children are the most eager, as their parents will buy them new clothes. In addition to buying things, many Vietnamese families make Chung cake, pickled onion, frozen meat, which are our country's traditional food on Tet holiday. We decorate ancestral altars with a five-fruit tray, vegetables, sweets, and flowers.

In the last day of the previous year, people become more excited as they feel that the New Year is very near to them. Everybody all waits for the sacred moment when the clock points 0 am and fireworks light up everywhere to wish for health, lucks and happiness in the next year. Streets are extremely crowded. On contrary, in the first morning of the year, everything seems peaceful and quiet as people want to sleep longer to enjoy the moment with their cozy family. However, there are some families getting up early to come back to their hometown to visit their ancestors' graves and relatives. From noon on, everybody go to their neighbors' houses to wish them a happy new year. Children in new clothes are very excited, as they will get lucky money from adults.

There are many activities to welcome new coming spring in this occasion. Children usually take up pens to write their first essay, hoping for good results in school. In spring festivals, everyone especially the young takes part in the traditional games such as rollercoaster, tug of war, cooking rice, cock fighting etc. to express their happiness while farmers wish for bumper crops. Women often go to pagodas to show Buddha their hearts and wish their families good things and power to avoid bad lucks. During the first days of New Year, Vietnamese people do things that are supposed to be good for themselves and their loved ones such as wearing red clothes, buying salt, taking chance or praying... and avoid saying taboos(related to death, breaking...). Each region in Vietnam has it own customs to celebrate Tet, which are very special and unique.

"Tet" is the word that is very familiar to Vietnamese people whenever we think about our country. This is the time for family reunion, for festivals, and for people to give love to their loved one. As for me, I enjoy the warm and cozy Tet's atmosphere when all members of my family stay and talk together.

Everyyear there are many special occasions in VN, but TET holiday is considered the most significant event to Vietnamese. It's about in towards end of January to February. In that time, all vietnamese family members try to come back their homes and get together .Last tet holiday, I also had a good time with my family.to prepare for tet, I and my sister bought many things such as: new clothes, foods, fruits... We also bought much paints to repair my house. The kumquat tree and peach flower are the most important things that can't lack in my family. after cleaning the house, my parents taught to make Chung cake. It seemed so hard to me 








Every year winter passed, carrying the cold of it, is bustling around preparing to welcome a fresh flowers next spring. And of course, the yellow apricot trees loaded with fresh flowers sunny Southern fibers with bright pink peach trees bring beauty cold tender for the domain are two indispensable. 
Did not know how now, beautiful golden apricot trees appeared before me at home. Just remember that brief, his grandfather brought it on when going out New Year market. When the wind settled that, the flowers come again fell to the ground, forming a carpet of gold as the sun cover.

Every year, on 30/1, then I'm burning up! On this day, I want to sleep until 7:30 the morning, along with your breakfast US- close friend of my neighbor. Then walk around the street together. Noon, I wish everyone in my neighborhood would gather to eat bars, karaoke. In the afternoon, I, My and Huyen and I will go swimming. 4:00 And they went for ice cream. Finally the evening, me and my sister will be playing the computer, and play again just as the Kitchen God. And 8:00 to 11:30 sleep when my mother called up, just then, the sisters would burn sparklers. 12:00 arrived, my family will really warm Eve. And sleep together.
