Lunar New Year or Tet is a traditional festival in Viet Nam. It's the biggest festival in Vietnam. It is held in late January and early February. It's the time when family members reunite and celebrate the occasion together. Tet's preparation lasts many weeks. One or Two dáy before Tet, people make chung cake and Tet cake. Every one is busy buying new clothes, cleaning and decorating their houses and cooking some trditional food such as: jam, picked onion, gio, spring roll, frozen meet,..., Home is often decorated with plants and flowers at this time. Peach blossom is traditional at Tet in the north.While apricot blossom is traditional in the South. Besides, the kumquat tree with its ripe deep orange fruits is popular throughout the country. On the last of the year, preparation for new year is completed. Families have a New Year's Eve supper together and expect the New year's eve. At the mid-night, everyone performs ritusl offering to the ancestor on the New Year's Eve. People believe that what they do on the first day of the year will influence their luckiness during the whole year. On the first day of the year , people visit relatives, friends. neighbors,....
