Five years ago, I attended a very big festival in Ha Noi. It's called 1000th Anniversary of Thang Long - Ha Noi Festival. There are a lot of activities in this festival such as fireworks display, military parade, music performances, ect. It was organized very splendidly because the organizers are the Viet Nam government. Millions of people came to Ha Noi to participate in this great festival. It was held for ten days from October 1st 2015 to October 10th 2015. I saw lots of fireworks, parties, parades during these days. It was interesting. I took so many pictures on this festival because there were plenty of beautiful scenes. We organized this great festival to celebrate the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Ha Noi.

Halloween is a holiday celebrated on October 31st. The most common colors of the day are orange and black. Halloween comes from the ancient Celtic festival Samhain.

The ancient Celts believed that on October 31st, now known as Halloween, the boundary between the living and the deceased is not clear, and the dead become dangerous for the living by causing problems such as sickness or damaged crops.

On Halloween, the ancient Celts would place a skeleton by their window to represent the dead. Believing that the head was the most powerful part of the body, containing the spirit and knowledge, the Celts used the "head" of the vegetable to decorate their houses.

On this day people often wear strange clothes as characters in horrible novels or movies to frighten others.

People usually like to dress as ghosts, skeletons, or witches. Now Halloween is an official holiday in almost all European countries.

My favourite festival is Christmas. It celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. It is an important festival in theWest. I love this festival because it brings a long holiday to us to enjoy ourselves. Every year before Christmas, my family and I buy some presents for relatives and friends. We decorate our house with a lot of festive decorations. We put up a Christmas tree in the living room and we decorate the tree with little angels, many beautiful bells and some little Santa Clauses. We also place a big star on top of the tree. On Christmas Eve, my sister and I put stockings beside our beds, and my parents secretly put some gifts inside the stockings. I will also put gifts secretly under the pillows of my parents to surprise them. During Christmas time, we have Christmas parties. I have parties with my family, relatives and friends. We prepare a lot of food such as turkey, Christmas cake, chicken wings and sausages. At the parties, I give Christmas cards to everyone and we exchange gifts with each other. Together we sing Christmas carols.

Christmas is fun. I love this festival very much.

Lễ hội là một trong những nét văn hóa của dân tộc ta, nó không chỉ là nơi để vui chơi giải trí mà nó còn là để cho nhân dân ta thể hiện mong ước hay nhớ ơn tổ tiên ông bà ta. Mỗi một quê hương có những lễ hội riêng, tiêu biểu có thể kể đến lễ hội cầu ngư – lễ hội cá ông.

Chính đặc trưng ngành nghề ấy đã quyết định đến tín ngưỡng của họ. Những người sống ven biển miền trung thường có tục thờ ngư ông. Chính vì thế cho nên hàng năm họ thường tổ chức vào các năm giống như những hội ở miền Bắc. Họ quan niệm rằng là sinh vật thiêng ở biển, là cứu tinh đối với những người đánh cá và làm nghề trên biển nói chung. Điều này đã trở thành một tín ngưỡng dân gian phổ biến trong các thế hệ ngư dân ở các địa phương nói trên.

Ở mỗi địa phương thì thời gian diễn ra lễ hội truyền thống lại diễn ra khác nhau. Ở Vũng Tàu thì được tổ chức vào 16, 17, 18 tháng 8 âm lịch hàng năm. Ở thành phố Hồ Chí Minh thì lại được tổ chức vào 14 – 17/18 âm lịch hàng năm. Nói chung dù diễn vào thời gian nào thì tất cả những lễ hội ấy đều nói lên được nét đặc trưng văn hóa của nhân dân ven biển. Đồng thời nó thể hiện khát vọng bình yên, cầu mong cuộc sống ấm no hạnh phúc thịnh vượng của họ. Lễ hội Ngư Ông còn là nơi cho mọi người tưởng nhớ đến việc báo nghĩa, đền ơn, uống nước nhớ nguồn.

Tiếp đến chúng ta đi vào phân tích phần lễ hội ngư ông. Trước hết là phần lễ thì bao gồm có hai phần:

Thứ nhất là lễ rước kiệu, lễ rước đó là của Nam hải Tướng quân xuống thuyền rồng ra biển. Khi ấy những ngư dân sống trên biển và bà con sẽ bày lễ vật ra nghênh đón với những khói nhang nghi ngút. Cùng với thuyền rồng rước thủy tướng, có hàng trăm ghe lớn nhỏ, trang hoàng lộng lẫy, cờ hoa rực rỡ tháp tùng ra biển nghênh ông. Không khí đầy những mùi hương của hương án và bày trước mắt mọi người là những loại lễ. Trên các ghe lớn nhỏ này có chở hàng ngàn khách và bà con tham dự đoàn rước. Đoàn rước quay về bến nơi xuất phát, rước ông về lăng ông Thủy tướng. Tại bến một đoàn múa lân, sư tử, rồng đã đợi sẵn để đón ông về lăng. Có thể thấy lễ rước ông không những có sự trang nghiêm của khói hương nghi ngút mà còn có sự đầy đủ của lễ vật và âm nhạc rộn rã của múa lân.

Thứ hai là phần lễ tế. Nó diễn ra sau nghi thức cúng tế cổ truyền. Đó là các lễ cầu an, xây chầu đại bội, hát bội diễn ra tại lăng ông Thủy tướng.

Tiếp đến là phần hội thì trước thời điểm lễ hội, hàng trăm những chiếc thuyền của ngư dân được trang trí cờ hoa đẹp mắt neo đậu ở bến. Phần hội gồm các nghi thức rước Ông ra biển với hàng trăm ghe tàu lớn nhỏ cùng các lễ cúng trang trọng. Đó là không khí chung cho tất cả mọi nhà trên thành phố đó thế nhưng niềm vui ấy không chỉ có ở thành phố mà nó còn được thể hiện ở mọi nhà. Ở tại nhà suốt ngày lễ hội, các ngư dân mời nhau ăn uống, kể cả khách từ nơi xa đến cũng cùng nhau ăn uống, vui chơi, trò chuyện thân tình.

Như vậy qua đây ta thấy hiểu thêm về những lễ hội của đất nước, ngoài những lễ hội nổi tiếng ở miền Bắc thì giờ đây ta cũng bắt gặp một lễ hội cũng vui và ý nghĩa không kém là ngư ông. Có thể nói qua lễ hội ta thêm hiểu hơn những mong muốn tốt lành của những người ngư dân nơi vùng biển đầy sóng gió. Đặc biệt nó cũng trở thành một lễ hội truyền thống của những người dân nơi biển xa.

I used to attend the Tet Holiday Flower festival. It’s called Nguyen Hue Flower street Festival. It is held in Nguyen Hue Street in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. It takes place every Tet Holiday for 1 week. It is celebrated by Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee. They display and decorate the street with many kinds of flowers and lights. Many people come there to enjoy the beautiful flowers and take pictures.

Mid-Autumn Festival is under the full moon day of the lunar calendar every year in August, over 4,000 years ago. This is the day children’s festival, also known as the “Festival looks Moon”. Children are expected Tet is because adults are often donated toys, usually light. His star, mask, light pull troops … and pies, cakes plastic. In Vietnam, Moon cakes are the specific cakes and are only on this festival. Moon cakes, which are made from flavor, dried fruit, meat, egg, pumpkin’s seed, peanut, are so sweet and good tasting. Moon cakes symbolize Luck, Happiness, Health and Wealth on the Mid-Autumn day.

Mid-Autumn celebration is also an opportunity for members of the family to get together and share everything in their year. The young generation express their gratitude to the old generation. The parents show their love for their children. For others, because the traditional time to have this festival is usually after harvesting the crops, it is as the congratulation for the full harvest.

Apart from moon cakes and lanterns, the other most visible tradition related to Mid-Autumn festival is the lion dance. On the nights leading up to the holiday, groups of children parade through the streets – some of the children maintain a martial beat on drums, while others control an extravagantly decorated ‘lion’ crafted from molds and paper.

The children approach homes and businesses and ask the owners for their permission to perform. If they agree, the children put on a show that is believed to bring a blessing of luck and fortune. Afterwards the host gives the children lucky money as a sign of gratitude.
