So sánh hơn (comparative) là cách nói ai đó hay cái gì… hơn ai/cái khác.

• Tính từ ngắn (1–2 âm tiết): thêm –er vào sau và dùng "than" sau tính từ. Ví dụ: tall → taller than (cao hơn), small → smaller than (nhỏ hơn), hot → hotter than.

• Tính từ dài (từ 3 âm tiết trở lên): dùng "more + adjective + than". Ví dụ: beautiful → more beautiful than (xinh đẹp hơn), expensive → more expensive than (mạc hơn).

• Bất quy tắc: good → better than, bad → worse than, far → farther/further than, many/much → more than.
