In my family, preparing for Tet, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, is a joyous and vibrant affair. Our family members come together to decorate the house with colorful flowers, particularly peach blossoms and kumquat trees, which are believed to bring prosperity and good fortune. Traditional foods like sticky rice cakes and candied fruits are prepared with love and care, ensuring that our ancestral spirits are honored. We also take the time to offer incense and prayers at our family altar, expressing gratitude for the past year and seeking blessings for the year ahead.
