Read the following fable and put the verbs in brackets into the Past or the Past continuous
The fisherman and his wife
A fisherman and his wife (live...) in a little hut by the sea. One day, while thw fisherman (perform).... his usual work, he (catch)... a fish who (say)... he (be) .....actually a magical prince as well as a talking fish.
The fisherman (agree) ....to let him to go.
The wife (not like) ..that, and (tell) him to go back and ask for a cottage. This wish (come)... true, but the cottage (not be)...... nice enough so he wife then (send).... the fisherman back to wish for a cattle, then to wish that they (be)... the rulers of the country, and then to be emperors.
Finally, the wife (want) .....to be like God. On returning home, thd fisherman (find)..... that his wife (sit) ......in their humble hut again.
