The Maori arrived in New Zealand from other Polynesian islands over a thousand years ago. They were the first people to live there. They made beautiful wooden buildings with pictures cut into the wood. There are about 280,000 Maori today. Maori have brown skin, dark brown eyes ,and wavy black hair.
In 1840, they agreed to become British colony, and they learned European ways quickly. Today, there are Maori in all kinds of jobs. They attend schools and universities and become lawyers and scientists. There are Maori in the government. Most of them live like the white New Zealand.
However, the Maori do not forget their traditions. Children learn the language, music and old stories. They have yearly competitions in speaking, dancing, and singing. The Maori live a comfortable, modern life, but they keep their traditions by passing them to their children.

Part III. There are 5 mistakes in the following passage. Find them and write your corrections on your answer sheet. (10 points)
Malaria at one time infected 90% of the population of Borneo. In 1955, a World Health Organization began a DDT spraying programme which virtually eliminated malaria. But other things began to happen. Besides killing mosquitoes, the DDT also killed other insects that lived in the houses, such as flies and cockroach. This insects were the favourite food of geckos(small lizards). And so when the geckos ate the dead insects, they died from DDT poisoning. Similar, the house cats ate the dead geckos and crockroaches, and they died from DDT poisoning, too. As a result, the rat population rose sharply, and the human population of Borneo began to die from a type of plague carried by fleas on the rats. In order to deal with the emergency, thousands of cats were parachuted into the island, in what was called as “Operation Cat Drop”. | Line 1 Line 2 Line 3 Line 4 Line 5 Line 6 Line 7 Line 8 Line 9 Line 10 |
Giúp mình sửa lỗi sai trong bài essay này với ạ!
When I was 10 years old, I was moved to a new house. This house was very beautiful, and my room is beautiful, too!
When I opened the door, I could hardly believe what I saw. Had my wish come true? The room painted pink is my room! It is lighter and it also has a wide window from where you can see the mountains and a country landscape. It has a very big balcony with a view at the sea. There are many nice pictures hunging from the wall. In one side, there is a huge bed covered by a patchwork cover, and small lamp on the bedside table. There not only a table, a desk with a computer but alsao a TV. My guitar and the piano are in the corner of the room and there are many colour lights in the ceiling. There is a small white rug on the wooden floor and plenty of books are on the shelves opposite to the bed.
Thanked to my parents that building for me a nice room!

My parents and I live in a large new apartment on the 9th floor of the Green Star Building which is right in the heart of Sydney, Australia. There is a living room, two bedrooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. It has a beautiful long balcony giving us a bird’s eye view of the city. It also has glass windows which let in plenty of sunlight. It is quite hot in summer and cold in winter, so our living rooms and all bedrooms are air-conditioned. There is a swimming pool located in the basement that is absolutely free of charge, a small supermarket and some restaurants just next to the building entrance.
1. Why are most of the rooms in Katy's house air-conditionerd ?

The country is more beautiful than a town and more pleasant to live in. Many people think so, and go to the country for the summer holidays though they cannot live there all the year round. Some have a cottage built in a village so that they can go there whenever they can find the time.
English villages are not all alike, but in some ways, they are not very different form one another. Almost every village has a church, the round and square tower of which can be seen from many miles around. Surrounding the church is the churchyard, where people are buried.
The village green is a wide stretch of grass, the houses or cottages are built round it. Country life is now fairy comfortable and many villages have running water brought through pipes into each house. Most villages are so close to some small towns that people can go there to buy what they can’t find in the village shops.
4. Is the country more beautiful than a town?

5. What does almost every village have?
