- As the proverb says, "You have a father like a house with a roof." That statement shows the importance and position of a father in the family. For me, my dad's image is always in my mind.
My father is over 40 years old. Dad is a police soldier. It makes me very proud and proud. Dad often had to go on duty and on duty. Dad has a face full of letters, serious eyes. On hot days, Dad came home from work, his face was flushed red, sweat was all over his face and a whole piece of his shirt was wet. I understand that he had to stand guard in the hot sun, so he loved him even more.
Tanned skin, healthy. Even at work-free evenings, Dad sat down to think about the agency's documents. At that time, his father's face was thoughtful, his eyes bright, his bushy eyebrows narrowed. His hair was dotted with silver threads. I know that my father has to take care of work in an office which is hard and difficult, especially very dangerous but he always tries to get the best work done.
Every time he went to work, he often wore his military uniform and his police hat looked very stately. Last weekend, Betty played with her friends, Richard and Helen. First, they played volleyball, and then they went to the park and climbed trees. 'This is boring,' said Helen. 'Iknow a game that's more exciting, but we need an umbrella.' They went to her house and found a big red umbrella. Helan opened it and stood on a chair. Then she jumped off. 'Look! I can fly!' she said. 'That chair isn't verry high, ' said Richard. 'Watch me!' He took the umbrella and jumbed off a table.
Betty wanted to fly, too. 'I'm going to jump off the balcony upstairs!' she said. 'No! Don't! shouted Richard. 'It's too high!' 'It isn't very hight,' said Betty. Betty could see the soft grass just below her. She was very afraid, but she opened the umbrella and jumped. She fell into some flowers. Helen and Richard ran downstairs. 'Betty! Are you OK?' they asked. 'No!' she answered. 'My left leg hurts.'

They are hoping to attract a lot of visitors and they have already decided that the food festival is popular, so it will take place every year.

My friend Sam’s birthday was last Saturday. He was twelve. We had a party for him, but we didn’t tell him we were going to have the party. On Saturday morning, Sam’s parents took him to breakfast at a restaurant. His cousin William has a key to his house, so we all went to the house to get ready.
First, everyone put the presents that they brought for Sam on the table in the dining room. Then, we move all the sofas and chairs in the living room so we would have enough space to dance. We wrote “Happy birthday, Sam!” on a piece of paper and we colored it gold. We put the paper on the wall. One of Sam’s friends brought some games for everyone to play and we put them in the living room too.
Next , we needed to make a cake for Sam. The kitchen was very hot when the cooker was on, so we opened the window. The cake smelled good and we wanted Sam to come home so we could eat it. We also made a pizza for lunch and some of Sam’s friends brought milk and juice to drink.
Soon we heard a car outside the house. We turned off the lights and hid behind the sofas and chairs. But when Sam came in, he laughed. “I know you’re here”, he said. We all jumped up. “Why aren’t you surprised?” we asked. “Because the window is open and I could smell the cake from outside” he told us. “Thanks, everyone. Let’s eat!”

HOBBIES IN THE PAST
Like fashion, hobbies change with the times. In our days, a lot of hobbies use technology: we take digital photos and post them online and children play computer games. But what did people use to do before this technology? Let's take a took at some hobbies that were popular more than 100 years ago.
Many of the sports that we play today were popular in the past, too. Football became popular and had rules for the first time in the 19th century. Many football clubs were started by employers, so that workers could play and stay fit. Football was a men sports but both men and woman played other sports, like tennis and croquet. Unfortunately, the long skirts worn at that time didn’t help women with their games at all.
Many girls and women spent their spare times doing sewing and embroidery. They used a needle and thread to make tiny stitches on a piece of fabric. They made clothes and accessories such as scarves and gloves. They created beautiful pictures of flowers, birds and other patterns. They also used to embroider cushions, tablecloths and rugs.
Girl in the 19th century used to play with dolls and doll’s houses. At that time, toys were handmade. The doll’s heads were often made of china and the bodies were made wood. Rocking horses were also very popular. They were made of wood and their tails were made of real horsehair. Boys used to play with toys trains and railways.
Finally, people in the 19th century love nature, so one popular hobby was collecting and drawing butterfiles. People used to catch butterflies in nets and fix them on special boards with pins. They used to draw pictures that showed all the details and colours of the beautiful insects.
Past or present, hobbies are a great way to pass the time. They help us show our creativity and used our imagination.
