While some individuals hold the view that offences are the production of social unrest, there is also a contrasting view that it is just the result of an innate characteristic of human. This essay below will analyze both the given statements and why I personally lean towards the first viewpoint.
On the one hand, it is justifiable that economic deprivation is a major cause of crime and the lack of basic needs promotes a person for commiting infractions. The fact has been proved that people those who are living below the level of poverty and having a limited amount of food, garments, shelters, treatment and academic facilities, are likely to adopt the wrong ways, like stealing or kidnapping, to ensure their survivals in the world. In Bangladesh, pickpocketing has increased drastically after a great fall of GDP, as a prime example for the effect of poverty on civil disorder.
Nevertheless, psychological aspects can drive anyone to become criminal. If a person grows up in a dysfunction family where there are neglected, abuse, and misbehavior, he may inherit such bad habits, leading to wrong tasks. Besides, some people might have a mental disorder, which also could be a cause of his involvement in the violence. For instance, in many cases, after investigation, it has been revealed that a growing number of serial killers were psychopaths.
In conclusion, human's socio-economic background and their own personalities are among the factors leading to the up rate of offences.
