It was a Friday morning and all members of the family got up quite early to get ready for the trip. We hired a car and drove for about two hours to arrive in Hai Phong province then got on a ferry to reach the destination. In spite of feeling a little bit tired, we got really excited when the beautiful coastline and sparkling blue ocean appeared in front of our eyes. We booked a family room in a 3-star hotel, which was pretty large and luxurious. The first activity we were so eager to experience was swimming. Unfortunately, the waves were too big for us to swim but it was fun to jump over them anyway. At night time, it was great to take off our shoes and wander along the coastline. The wind carried the distinctive smell of the sea, giving us a sense of peace and relaxation. Early on the next day, I woke up at 5 o’clock to follow my mom to the local market. We also hired bicycles to get around and explore the neighborhood, as well as find a souvenir shop to buy some gifts for our friends. On the last day in Cat Ba, my family took part in a small trip around Lan Ha bay by boat to immerse ourselves in the spectacular natural beauty here. The most interesting experience we had on the holiday was enjoying dinner on a boat. Eating fresh food on the sea when the sun came down really went beyond my expectations. After three days, we returned home but could not forget the great time we spent there. It was definitely one of the best memories of mine and my family members’.

Thật không may, sóng quá lớn để chúng tôi bơi nhưng dù sao cũng rất vui khi nhảy qua chúng. Vào ban đêm, thật tuyệt khi cởi giày và đi lang thang dọc theo bờ biển. Gió mang mùi đặc biệt của biển, cho chúng ta cảm giác bình yên và thư giãn. Đầu ngày hôm sau, tôi thức dậy lúc 5 giờ để theo mẹ tôi đến chợ địa phương. Chúng tôi cũng đã thuê xe đạp để đi xung quanh và khám phá khu phố, cũng như tìm một cửa hàng lưu niệm để mua một số quà tặng cho bạn bè của chúng tôi. Vào ngày cuối cùng ở Cat BA, gia đình tôi đã tham gia một chuyến đi nhỏ quanh Vịnh Lan ha bằng thuyền để đắm mình trong vẻ đẹp tự nhiên ngoạn mục ở đây. Trải nghiệm thú vị nhất chúng tôi có trong kỳ nghỉ là thưởng thức bữa tối trên thuyền. Ăn thực phẩm tươi trên biển khi mặt trời lặn thực sự vượt quá mong đợi của tôi. Sau ba ngày, chúng tôi trở về nhà nhưng không thể quên thời gian tuyệt vời mà chúng tôi đã dành ở đó. Đó chắc chắn là một trong những kỷ niệm đẹp nhất của tôi và các thành viên trong gia đình tôi.

After a stressful semester, my parents decide take me to the country to visit grandparents, leave the noise of city behind. Homeland is a small and peaceful land, beside the Red River. The atmosphere here is very fresh, there is no noise, no pollution as in the city I am living. On two sides of the road there are the rows of green trees and birds singing beside the ears. In front of my grandparents’s house is a small garden. Every morning, after sweeping the house, I am taken to the garden to water vegetables, feed chickens. The feeling of watching the little yellow chickens run around the legs is really amazed. In the afternoon, my brother leads me to fly kites on the long dyke with children in the neighborhood. These children also think some interesting games such as chasing, hide and seek ... For me, everything here is new and amazing. After the trip, I know how to swim and learn many many things. I hope next summer parents will take me to visit the grandparents again.
