All of the special holidays in my country, I like Tet the most. Tet is an occasion to everyone get together in warm atmosphere. Before Tet holiday, Everyone prepares many things and decorates their house. I plant a lot of flowers in front of my house and buy many things such as clothes, foods ...Besides, most of the streets also are decorated beautifully with colorful lights and flowers. During Tet, I spends more time on visiting my relatives, friends and colleagues. Especially, I give to each other the best wishes for the new year. Tet is an opportunity for children receive lucky money. There is a funny thing that people try to avoid argument or saying any bad things at Tet. I love Tet holiday!

Xin 1 tick . Thanks

2. The Mid-Autumn Festival for meeting your meeting lights last year was really fun. Mom bought me a butterfly-shaped lantern. On the night of the full moon in August, when I heard the frog drum in the alley, I hurriedly brought the lantern to enter the tiny army to head to the wide grassy area and then circle into the yard. After her statement, we lined up and walked around the neighborhood, headed by two dragons. Where the light picked up, the lamp went to where it was, the sound of the drum rang there, making the whole village bustling like a big festival. We received the light for a round, we went back to the grass to prepare to break the deck. The performance is also as fun as the procession of lights. We just ate candies, fruits, and performed art. When the moon was high, we left.

That festival left me many unforgettable memories.

Lunar New Year as well as Tet holiday, is the most important festival in Vietnam, which takes place from the first day of the first month of the Lunar calendar (around late January or early February) until the third day.

However, Vietnamese people often spend almost 3 weeks to celebrate this special event. Although Tet is a national holiday but each region has its own customs. Every house is decorated with peach blossoms in the North and yellow apricot blossoms in the southern parts. In the northern cities, the kumquat tree is popular. It is placed in the living room during Tet.

The more fruits are, the more fortune and profit the family gets in the coming year. People usually clean the whole houses carefully before Tet because sweeping during 3 first days of the year is considered to be anunlucky sign. It means sweeping the luck away.

Then they decorate houses with a lot of colorful accessories. This is also the time when people spend a lot of money on shopping. They buy new clothes, new furniture, food, snack and everything else. Besides, family members will visit and clean their ancestor’s graves together to express the respect of descendants.

Everyone needs to pay all of the debt before the new year because the remaining debt is considered to bring bad luck to themselves. Vietnamese people prepare a lot of traditional food for Tet such as Chung cake (it is called “Tet cake” in the South), dried bamboo soup, sticky rice, boiled chicken, spring roll and Vietnamese sausage.

Braised pork belly with duck is more popularly enjoyed in the South than in the North. Some snacks and drinks are always prepared for guests, we can name as roasted watermelon seeds, dried candied fruits, candies, cookies, coke and green tea.

In the Lunar calendar, New Year’s Eve – the last day of the year, is celebrated at evening. Family members gather to watch Tao Quan (a famous show in Vietnam) or go out to watch the fireworks. When it is at 12 o’clock at night, people say “Happy new year” to each other and wish them nice words.

This is the meaningful moment of the transition of the year. People also visit pagodas and temples to pray and wish for a happy and lucky year. On the first day of the new year, people seldom enter any other people’s houses without being invited.

The reason is that Vietnamese believe the first visitor in the year will determine their fortune for the entire year. People will spend time with family after working far from home for a long time. Children in new clothes give the elders greetings while the adults give them lucky money in red envelopes in exchange.

In addition, Vietnamese pay attention to every word they say since they believe what they do will affect them all year round. On the second day, people begin to visit relatives and friends. Many people also return to their homeland for family reunions.

The last day is for the teacher. After Tet holiday, there are many other spring festivals all over the country. Tet is an important occasion. During these 3 first days, people hope for a good upcoming year. If you want to experience the traditional cultures, come and have an unforgettable Lunar New Year trip in Vietnam.
