My teacher asked to write a informal text describing my neighborhood using prepositions of location. I'll be thankful if you help me correcting it.
One of the things I like most in NYC is my neighborhood. I have been living in Brooklyn Heights for 1 year, and I can say that I fell in love with it at the first week living in this area. The first thing I noticed was how pretty the neighborhood looks. After that, I felt a nice atmosphere of safety and cool community where people always say "good morning" and seem kind and calm. At the end, I was pleased to know how much stores, coffee shops and supermarkets are around.
In front of my building there is a wonderful view of Manhattan, and if you are up to a walking, across the street there is a beautiful park. Inside the park there are jogging tracks, trees, lakes, children playgrounds, and a big green lawn area. You also can reach the Brooklyn bridge and get Manhattan by walking above the bridge. Behind of my building there are a lot of brick buildings and the streets are made of paving stone which is very charming. Three blocks away, there is a street full of restaurants, coffee shops and nice stores. Across the street there is a big drugstore, a bank and a supermarket at the corner. Sometimes, when I am disposed to walk a little bit more, I go to Bergs Avenue at Trader Joe's market. I also can find a knitting store, a vegetarian restaurant, and an affordable gym. All this in the same area.
Another thing I really like in my neighborhood is that it is nearby subway stations. The station provide a lot of trains all the time, which is great because I have 2 or more options to go wherever I want.
As I have shown, there are many things I love in my neighborhood. In conclusion, I can say that the place where I live has the calm and the peace from a small city and it is just 10 minutes far from the most cosmopolitan area in the world.
