Fabrizio from Venice: Of course, there’s a lot to see in Venice. It’s one of the most famous cities in the world. First of all, there are the canals. We don’t have cars in Venice so you have to travel everywhere by canal. The most famous place in Venice is the square. St. Mark’s Square with St. Mark’s Cathedral. And there are lots of museums and palaces, and beautiful bridges, too.

Yumi from Kyoto: For me, Kyoto is the most beautiful city in Japan. It’s also the oldest city. It has many old traditional buildings, and beautiful palaces, temples and gardens. The most famous temple is the Golden Pavilion. There are also very good markets, and also really good shops, and some beautiful modern buildings, too.

Like most other hobbies, stamp colleting can be exhilarating, time-consuming and, for the uninitiated, overwhelming. Consider this - it is estimated that in the last 100 years alone, close to one billion diffrent stamps have been issued by governments all around the world. Not only that, but some of these stamps are as rare, and as expensive, as Renaissance paintings. The most famous is probably the upside-down airplane stamp, valued at almost 1 million dollars. Also the result of a printing mistake is the world's most expensive stamp, the Treskilling Yellow, so called because it was originally worth three shillings when issued in Sweden in 1855, and because it was supposed to be printed in green, this being the only known sample in yellow. This stamp was recently sold at auction for 1.7 milion pounds, making it the single most expensive item by weight in the world. Of course, amateur philatelists would do well to concentrate on a sub-section of the wonderful world that is philately, such as collecting every stamp issued by a certain government in a year, or collecting every stamp of a particular design, etc. Any other approach to this hobby is a sure fire recipe for frustration and perhaps for ruin.

The Temple of Literature is about 10 minutes away from Hoan
Kiem Lake. It was constructed in 1070 under Ly Thanh Tong’s dynasty,
first to honor Confucius and nowadays to celebrate the doctorates and high

rank scholars of Vietnam. In 1076, Emperor Ly Nhan Tong continued the work and built the Imperial Academy
as the first university of Vietnam.
The temple is divided into five courtyards. The first courtyard is from the main gate to Dai Trung Gate. The
second is with Khue Van Pavilion. The pavilion symbol is used on all street signs of Ha Noi. The third
courtyard is the place where doctorate names were listed on the stone tablets above tortoise backs. The fourth
courtyard is dedicated for Confucius and his 72 honoured students, as well as Chu Van An - one of the most
famous teachers at the Imperial Academy. The last is also the farthest courtyard is Thai Hoc House, which was
used as the Imperial Academy. Thai Hoc House holds a small collection of old-time costumes for students and
scholars.

The ancient town of Hoi An lies on the Thu Non river, 30 km south of Da Hang. It was formerly a major trading center in Southeast Asia between the 16th and 17th centuries. Hoi an is famous for it's old temples, pagodas, small tile - roofed houses and narrow streets. All the houses we're made of wood and their pillar we're carved with ornamental design.

All visitors to Hoi an are commended a visit to the Assembly Hall of Cantonese Chinese Congregation. This house was built in 1855 and still keeps many precious objects that belonged to the Chinese community of Hoi an.
