Children at secondary school are often taken on visits to mesuems, zoos and concerts and sometimes even to orther countries. What do you think the advantages and disadvatages of such visits are?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevent examples from your own knowledge or experience
Visiting to various places such as museums, zoos, theatre and even foreign countries for children at secondary school are more and more popular. While I believe that there are some negative impacts on children, visiting should be utilized in school for many positive outcomes.
The main benefit for children when they are attended outdoor activities is that they are learnt in the real world. This means children not only learn on their class with many paper theories, but they also learn lessons through experience reality. For example, they can learn geography by watch discoveries programme on television, or they can see real history by go to visit museums. All these can inspire them to learn well.
Another positive point for children who are taken on visit to many places while learning at secondary school is that it makes them more confidence. If they learn through playing, they will not have any pressure because they do not have to memorize as robot. For instance, once my daughter asked me: “what is war” and I had taught her by opened a clip told about the war in Viet Nam. As a result, she understood immediately.
Admittedly, to some people such visits have some disadvantages. First of all, it takes time away from real learning if children visit too many places. In addition, children who are the poor will not enough finance to efford all trips which school organizes, this makes them feel embarrassed.
In conclusion, while outdoor activities can have some negative effects on children at secondary school, it seems to me that secondary school should organize more visiting in order to give children the best.
