II. Read the text and answer the questions I started learning English when I was only five years old at my parents' insistence. Back then, I thought it was a Waste of time but now in college being able to speak and understand English is helping me study better. Firstly, because of the supremacy of English - Speaking countries in science and technology, lots of science books and scientific study are published in English. Being a biology student, I’m glad to have English as my second language. Secondly, English is the “official” language of the Internet. More than half of the content on the Internet is written in English. If I didn’t understand English, I wouldn’t be able to use all these information for research and reference.
