Temple of Literature is a Temple of Confucius in Hanoi, northern Vietnam. The temple hosts the "Imperial Academy"Vietnam's first national university. The temple was built in 1070 at the time of Emperor Lý Thánh Tông. It was built in 1076 AD at the time of Emperor Lý Thánh Tông. It was built as a school for the rich and royals to study because education is very important. After that, it was used as university for everyone because there weren't enough universities for everyone in Hanoi. They wanted that a lot of people would go to the school so they expanded to make more space for more people and since it was expanded for more people wanted to go to the school to study well. It was rebuilt because the wood that the Emperor used in the olden days had been so old that it started to break and fall apart. As the days went by, the kings kept replacing the wood and now we have replaced the wood with concrete or metal,stone and new wood. When the French ruled Vietnam at around 1945- 1954, they destroyed some parts of the temple to make room for the sick and wounded since the hospitals were full.

Emperor Ly Thanh Tong founded The Temple of Literature in 1070. Now it is considered as one of the historic and cultural sites of Vietnam. And then in 1076 Emperor Ly Nhan Tong built The Imperial Academy as the first university of Vietnam.
In 1484, Emperor Le Thanh Tong built the first Doctor’s stone tablet there to memorize the devotion of Doctors. Now it is recognized as the World heritage by UNESCO. In 2003, the Ha Noi People Committee built four statues of Emperor Ly Thanh Tong, Emperor Ly Nhan Tong, King Le Thanh Tong, and Chu Van An who founded and developed Temple of Literature - Imperial Academy.

There’re many historic place in VN but the one I like best is th Imperial Academy. It was build in1076 under Emperor Ly Nhan Tong.It’s considered the first in VN.The Imperial Academy was a great success and thousands oo Vietnamese sholars graduated from this university. It has a long and interested history.Many kings, emperors and sholars worked to develop the university. At the Imperial Academy , Chu Van Anwas regarded as one of the most famous teacher.
