Before Lunar New Year, my family turned on. Heroes polished and cleaned the altar. The parents clean the house. Each one job, which does not unmounted and fun cushing. Full Navy is carried outside the restaurant into the house. Other lang, roses, chrysanthemums, orchids are also arranged in two harmonious colors. After the kitchen finishes the bread, mother and baby are prepared for the champion. On New Year, who wears new clothes, my whole family goes to New Year to relatives, grandparents. Tet is focused on meaning meaning.
Tet is a national and family festival. It is an occasion for every Vietnamese to have a good time while thinking about the last year and the next year. At Tet, spring fairs are organized, streets and public buildings are brightly decorated and almost all shops are crowded with people shopping for Tet. At home, every is tidied, special food is cooked, offerings of food, fresh water, flowers and betel are made on the family altar with burning joss- sticks scenting the air. First-footing is made when the lucky visitor comes and children are given lucky money wrapped in a red tiny envelope. Tet is also a time for peace and love. During Tet, children often behave well and friends, relatives and neighbors give each other best wishes for the new year.
Tet is a holiday for everyone. I love this day because in this day I mustn't go to school. I will at home, do many traditional activities. Of course, I will make banh chung or banh tet. What a wonderful activity! I can also get lucky money and get presents from my family. Althrough this is a holiday but you shouldn't play cards all night or all day. I LOVE TET HOLIDAY.
That's all
There are some common things that people do during this festival. Perhaps the most important thing is that people who work and study in big cities would go back to their hometown to celebrate the new year with their families and relatives. The new year festival is one of very few occasions that families can gather together, so it is easy to understand why everyone in Vietnam expects this festival so much. Another thing that we usually do is that we give children some “lucky money” with the hope that it will bring fortune to those kids. We also have some other activities such as making “chung” cake, visiting temples and pagodas… and so on.
