Minecraft is an independent video game in an open world. It was originally created by Swedish programmer Markus "Notch" Persson and later developed and published by Mojang. Ability to innovate and build Minecraft allow players to build constructions by building the building blocks in a 3D world. Other activities in the game include search, collect resources, build and fight. There are several game modes available, including survival mode, where the player must find the resources to construct the world and maintain health, creative mode, where players have unlimited resources to build and is capable of flying, adventure mode, where players play the maps created by other people and spectator mode, where players can fly through the block, but can not interact with the blocks. The PC version of the game is also known for the third-party mod, allowing more new tools, characters and missions to the game.
Minecraft received five awards Game Developers Conference in 2011. The developer Mojang game is awarded the Game Developers Choice Awards, in the category of Innovative, Best Downloadable Game award, and above all Game Debut Award; from the Independent Games Festival, the game has won the Audience Award and the Seumas McNally prizes. In 2012, Minecraft was awarded a Golden Joystick at Best Downloadable Game category. As of June 2016, more than 106 million copies have been sold, with over 40 million players each month Minecraft on all the different platforms makes Minecraft has become the best-selling PC game to date, and video games best selling after Tetris. September 15, 2014, Microsoft announced a deal to buy Mojang and Minecraft ownership, intellectual property rights for 2.5 billion US dollars; the acquisition was completed on November 6, 2014.
