My school's name is St. John's School. It is not far from our house. I go to my school every day on foot. Our Principal's name is Father D'Souza. Our class-teacher is Miss Faithful. There is a small playground in our school-compound. During the tiffin hour, we play there. We play volley-ball and badminton. There are two swings on the side, We swing there merrily. We have a good library on the ground floor of the school-building. Our librarian is Miss Stephens. She helps us in selecting good books. We take books on loan to read. The students of our school are gentle and disciplined. There is not much noise in our school. Our Principal is very strict. But he is also kind to all. I am happy as a student of my school. I love my school, my classmates, and my teachers. My school is my second home.

My house is in Dwarka. It was purchased three years ago by my father. It has three bedrooms with attached bathrooms. It has a big drawing cum-dining room.
It has a kitchen; a store room and a very beautiful lawn outside, the rooms of my house are spacious. They are well- ventilated. There are fans, tubes, bulbs and almirahs in all the rooms.
We have a computer in our house. We also have a television set, two sofa sets, a dining table and a stereo. The kitchen has shelves, tiles and slabs. There are water taps, a geyser and shower in the bathroom. There is a garage to park our car. My house is very comfortable and I like it very much.

My best friend is Linh. We have known each other since we were 10 years old. However we became best friends when we were at grade 7. At that time I was very bad at English and it was who helped me improve my English. Now she lives with her parents in Nguyen Trai street.
If I were to describe how she looks I would say she is very pretty. She has long black hair a straight nose and a small pointed chin. She is quite slim. She doesn t like to dress up so I usually see her wearing jeans and a T - shirt. She has a very nice personality and a wonderful sense of humour but she can also get a little depressed from time to time. I can always count on her to be honest and to give me the best advice.
What I like about Linh is that she has same hobbies with me. We both enjoy singing karaoke reading comic books and going shopping. We like going to the cinema but sometimes can t agree on which movie to see. In addition since I am better in Maths and Chemistry and she is better in English and languages we can always help each other if we get confused about a difficult homework assignment. We are so lucky that we get along so well. I hope that our friendship can last long.

Tet is a traditional holiday of our country Vietnam.
The season of Tet occurs around the beginning of February and end of Janaurỵ The meaning of Tet is ending old year and welcome a new year. Tet holiday is very special for Vietnamese families to reunite. At that time, all family members try to come back their homes and get together to prepare for Tet. Moreover, they will buy new clothes and clean their house. A branch of Mai flower or a Kumquat tree can't be absent from every home. They bring a fresh atmosphere to the house. We decorate the ancestral altar with a tray full of fruits and flowers.
Some typical Tet's food such as sweets, coconut jam, candied fruits, lemon seeds, rice cake , "thit kho"( stew pork with eggs). A special food can not absent is sticky rice cake.. It is our country's traditional food on Tet holiday. Tet meal is more delicious than our every day.
On Tet holiday, people have many typical activities. Young persons take part in the traditional games such as: tug; cooking rice, cock fighting, watching lion dance. Many people visit relatives to wish a happy new year. Adults will give lucky money for children. Women like going to the pagoda to wish good things will come to their families. In my opinion, I like cozy and fresh Tet's atmosphere. All family's members talk together about a happy new year. I can hang out with my friend and don't worry about any thing
" Tet" holiday is always in Vietnamese's heart.
Tet is the most important festival of the Vietnamese calendar. It marks the beginning of the lunar new year, which is celebrated in China as well. Festivities occur throughout the country, but this is a family holiday and many of the traditions of observance occur in the home. The official holiday lasts three days, but celebrations continue for at least the first week of the new year.
On New Year's Day, most families meet to exchange gifts and have a traditional meal, and also perform a ceremony to appease the kitchen god. Homes are decorated with the hoa mai flower and all thoughts of sadness are supposed to be avoided. Children are encouraged not to fight or cry and anyone in mourning is shunned because it is bad luck to be associated with death on New Year's Day. Many families plant a new year's tree in front of the house and wrap it with lucky red paper.The traditional meal includes foods such as bang, a bamboo and pork soup; bang chung, a sticky rice cake filled with pork and beans; and orange sticky rice. Even the ancestors are given food gifts. Families leave a five fruit tray at the altar.

Lunar New Year , or Tet is Vietnam's main holiday. It is the grandest and most important occasion in the year which falls sometime between 19th January and 20th February on the Western calendar. Tet marks the beginning of spring and for agrarian people, the start of a new year. and Tet's holiday is very wonderful , happy with everybody. Tet is coming soon, and I with my family will prepare Tet carefully to welcome New Year. In my family, my father and my brother are responsible for cleaning and decorating my house . My father said " I will decorate our house by some coloured lights, and put a kumquat tree in front of our house"
I see it will be wonderful !. and My mother and I will go to the flower market to buy Peach Blossom to decorate my hourse and some coloured flowers , then we will go to the supermarket in order to buy some gifts, candy, Mut for Tet. Special .My family together wrap "Banh chung" which is made by from sticky rice, green beans and fatty pork.It is very delicous!and this year i think I can wrap a small cake by my self ! . The first of new year, We believe that what they do on this day will influence our luch during the whole year.Thus , only positive comments should be made .We will visit some relatives, neighbor, and some friends, The children like me will be received "Lucky money" and we exchange New Year's wishes and then we will go to Pagoda to pray for a happy year for family .Moreover, We will play some games or take part in various forms of entertainment. Perhaps,With me, Tet is really a time of fun and festivals throught the country
