The environment in nowadays

As we know, with the development of science and technology, the environment is getting worse and worse, and the environment problem is becoming more and more serious in all over the world. For example, cars and factories made the air unhealthy to breathe and among of waste water is poured into rivers. In fact, pollution is already threatening our life. I think nowadays, which is a technological age that human should get more concentrate on how to protect our environment but not just focus on economic construction.

In the essays, Baxter defends an anthropocentric approach. He argues that we should make a balance between environmental improvement and other things, which just like make a trade with environment. I am kind of agree with him, because I believe there is no way to develop the quality of our life without pollutes the environment. Because we cannot totally prohibit the discharge of waste water and the cutting down trees, otherwise we have to back to primitive society. In my opinion, what we should to do is improve our technology to make the machine of high pollution to low pollution, but not just focus on improvement of production efficiency. In Lomborg’s essay, he argues that the Global Warming is a real problem, but “it is categorically not the end of the world”. With the development of economy, more and more greenhouse gases are being discharged into the air, and the biggest part of greenhouse gases is CO2, which is considered to be one of the greatest causes of global warming. It has harmful effects, causing the sea level to rise and many natural disasters to strike. It is kind of impossible to solve this problem completely, but we must take effective measures to keep our planet’s health. We should plant more trees to turn CO2 into oxygen, and more importantly, we should form the habit of saving energy in our daily life.

The earth is our home and I think we have the duty to take care of it for ourselves. Fortunately, the governments in most of the countries have realized these problems and laws have been passed to stop pollution in these countries. Although I think it is not good enough from laws to protect the environment in nowadays, but I believe the laws and people’s realization will be improved continuously, to avoid the suffering from the serious consequences caused by this lack of care for people’s living surroundings.

Air pollution is now a serious problem for those living in big, congested, industrialized cities with heavy vehicular traffic.

Air pollution may be defined as the occurrence of any foreign materials or gases such as oxides of carbon, sulphur and nitrogen in the air beyond prescribed limit, which are harmful for man, vegetation, animals or buildings.

The major gaseous pollutants of air are carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen and sulphur, hydrogen sulphide, fumes of acids, paints, smoke etc. Major solid pollutants of air are dust particles, of un-burnt carbon, lead, cement and asbestos.

Air pollution is not a favorable condition for any living-being. It means there is no element present in the composition of the natural air. This pollution comes under the category of environment pollution that affects air quality. For getting the grip of air pollution, the early morning starts from the layer of fog and seeing the substance is not quite clear. Either smoke or harmful gas leads you on the curve of air pollution. If any living being is bound to reside in this ecology, then it is hard to live life as much as you can.

Generally, air pollution happens in your surrounding as you burn coal, wood and any other fuel. As you burn any non-recyclable product around your living area, the produced fumes and smokes worsen air quality.  The breathing air comes in the interaction of oxides of oxygen, Sulphur and nitrogen. It has the effect of a poison whose identification is not easy.
