Work in pairs. Imagine the following situation. Your friend from another town is coming to stay with your family for two weeks over the summer holidays. Give him/her some advice. Discuss the following points:
• What he/she should pack for the visit
• Activities you could do together
• Advice on staying with your family
• What sports he/she can do in your town
Swap roles and repeat the Speaking activity.
A: As we planned before, I am coming to stay with your family for two weeks over the summer holidays. Can you give me some advice? What should I pack for the visit?
B: I think you should bring some tea or coffee for my parents because they really like drinking them in the morning.
A: I know. What activity can we do together in the summer in your hometown?
B: Well, you know, my hometown is famous for Vung Tau beach. I will take you there to enjoy the sea and take beautiful pictures when the sun sets.
A: That’s wonderful! What do I have to pay attention to when I stay with your family?
B: Don’t worry. My parents are very hospitable and friendly. The only thing you have to mind is not to be too lazy or impolite. They don’t like that.
A: Sure! Does your hometown have any sports clubs for students this summer?
B: Yes, there is a badminton competition organized by my province this summer. We can take part in practice and improve our health.
