In a sustained effort to change the domestic economic structure and develop the economy, the Vietnamese government has encouraged improvement of industry. This means the activities of factories and industrial areas have increased at a high level.
As a result, there are more and more fossil fuels being burned and a large amount of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and nitrogen put into the air, land and water. This causes the serious pollution of the air, land and water in Vietnam's environment. For example, there are many polluted rivers in Vietnam with black water and a terrible smell, and the Saigon River is a significant example. Furthermore, there are many places that do not have fresh water to drink and use for basic demands because of the pollution of water sources that result from the industrial waste of many factories.
In my opinion, the best solution for this problem is improving the environmental awareness of people by a suitable education program that can educate people about the importance and essential role of the environment.
