Sử dụng đại từ quan hệ để kết hợp 2 câu thành 1 và đặt đại từ quan hệ vào trong
ngoặc đơn nếu chúng có thể lược bỏ.(các em lưu ý cách sử dụng dấu phẩy trong
mệnh đề quan hệ không xác định)
Ví dụ:
The woman is my dear aunt. My father is talking to the woman.
=> The woman (whom) my father is talking to is my dear aunt.
Hoặc: The woman (that) my father is talking to is my dear aunt.
Mr Brown is very friendly . He is my teacher .
=> Mr Brown,who is my teacher, is very friendly.
Trong câu có mệnh đề quan hệ hạn định này who/that đóng vai trò làm tân ngữ nên
có thể bỏ đi được (nên ta để trong dấu ngoặc đơn).
