My Name is Maria Fernanda. I am 10 years old and in the fifth grade. I live with parents and my older brother in a small house in Mexico City.
6:00 a.m. The alarm goes off. I have to get up and get ready to school. It doesn't take me too long to get dressed because I wear a uniform.
6:30 a.m. For breakfast, my mom makes me a grilled bacon tomato cheese sandwich and a glass of milk. We leave the house for school at about 6:40.
7:00 a.m. Classes begin for the day and go until 2:30 p.m. We have a short break at 11, and most of us often have snacks in the school canteen.
2:45 p.m. My mom picks me up from school then we drive home and have lunch together.
3:30 p.m. My mom goes back to work. I stay at home with my elder brother. He goes to school in the evening after my mom returns. My brother and I usually watch TV together and sometimes he teaches me Maths – the subject that he studies very well.
4:30 p.m. I do my homework that has been assigned in my bedroom. When I have time, I like to lie on my bed and read books.
7:30 p.m. It's time for dinner. We often have something small, for example a bun and some milk, or a simple sandwich. For me, I usually have cereal, and after that I get ready for bed.
