Lucy:So, what are you going to do this summer?
Mark:Well, I'm probably going to go on vacation with my family for a week, but I think that I should get a summer job because I need to get some money. Actually, I haven't decided yet. What about you?
Lucy:I'm going to Thailand for the summer. I'm going to work as a (1) in a Thai restaurant for 2 months.
Mark:Really? That sounds great! Is it a (2) job?
Lucy:Yes. Actually, the work won't be very interesting. It'll be mostly taking orders, serving food and drinks and dealing with bill (3) . My manager is so generous to (4) me $800/ month.
Mark:Great! I wish I could get a job with such a high (5) like that. It'll be like a holiday, but you'll be earning money too.
Lucy:Yes, it's a chance to go abroad and maybe meet some new people. I think that I won't be under job (6) because my hours are 5 hours per day, so I'll have plenty of time during the day to go walking.
Mark:How did you find out about it?

Bài nghe:
1.
Teacher: Please describe the photo.
Student 1: Well, on the left, there are some trees. And in the centre, there's a woman walking along. She's hiking somewhere - it looks like a forest. She's holding a pole in each hand and she's wearing a rucksack, I think. At the bottom of the picture, you can see that it's a really muddy path. But the woman doesn't look worried. She seems to be having a good time.
Teacher: Thank you.
2.
Teacher: Please describe the photo.
Student 2: The photo shows five people in a dinghy. They're white-water rafting on a river. In the top left corner of the photo, there is a man leaning out of the boat. In the foreground, there's a lot of water. The man at the back of the dinghy is trying to guide the dinghy with his paddle. The other four people aren't helping very much. It looks as if they're new to it. They're all wearing the same life jackets and helmets. I imagine they're doing this as a holiday activity.
Teacher: Thank you.

Teacher: Hello, Lucy. How are you? Is the new school okay for you?
Lucy: Yes, it's great. But it's different to my school at home. There’re more students here and it's noisier.
Teacher: Yes, it is quite noisy, sometimes.
Lucy: The library at school is good and that's my favorite place. It's really quiet.
Teacher: Yes, it's a nice part of the school and what about the town?
Lucy: Well, the town is smaller than my home town.
Teacher: Uhm huh.
Lucy: I love the shops here, they're very modern. And I like the town square. Well it's prettier than the big square at home that's really dirty.
Teacher: Wow, right.
Lucy: My hometown is better for sport. The sport center is older here and I think climbing wall isn't very safe. It's quite dangerous.
Teacher: Oh, dear.
Lucy: But the swimming pool here is good. It's very clean cleaner than the pool back home.
Teacher: Great! Well it's good to talk to you again, Lucy.
Lucy: Yes, thank you. Bye.
4. Read what two students say about global warming and climate change. Who is more worried about the situation?
(Đọc xem hai học sinh đang nói về sự nóng lên toàn cầu và biến đổi khí hậu. Ai là người lo lắng về các vấn đề này hơn?)
Emma: We are using up fossil fuels like coal and gas very fast. If we carry on like this for much longer, we will have no fuel left and it will be impossible to stop climate change. We must change the way we live and start looking after the environment. Politicians must wake up and take action! We can't put it off!
Tom: It's impossible to come up with a solution that everyone is happy with. We can't just close down all the coal and gas power stations. We rely on fossil fuels for most of our energy. And it's difficult to persuade people to change the way they live. How many people will give up their cars? Not many! We should just learn to live with climate change, not try to stop it.
Emma is more worried. (Emma lo lắng nhiều hơn.)
