I was born and grown up on the poor land in Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province. That’s where deeply attaches to me 24 years of life. If anyone who asks me that “What’s the thing your most proud of?” .I will answer that’s my hometown. Duc Tho is the land poor where the people live by rice cultivation, breeding, and fishing. Although the life is very difficult, but the people is very friendly, and studious. In Duc Tho, there is a Tung Anh village where called “Doctor village”. Duc Tho is also the home of Tran Phu Secretary General, and marked many memories of the great leader Ho Chi Minh.

If you come to Duc Tho, you will feel many interesting things, visiting Tran Phu tombstone, La Giang dyke, rowing on La driver, and enjoying the traditional songs. In the evening, they can enjoy a special food which is “mussel rice” – just only eat one time, you will never forget.

Beautiful and unobtrusive! Duc Tho always tries to grow, and to improve the life of people, but keeping the traditional culture.

When I was younger, I lived on an 70's to 80's housing development (not a council estate). Not like the newest ones which have tiny rooms and very little space between "detached" houses, this was quite decent. My house was right next to a forest and moorland, but also on a damn street corner which proved to be problematic because of the tendency of youths to hang around and kick about balls on street corners. Yup, even decent housing estates have their chav problems. The "village" itself was mostly composed of endless rows of various houses and a big hill between the shops and my house.
There was a toy store at the row of shops, in which I frequently threw tantrums. :D There are better places to live, but I'd prefer it to where I'm living now. There is a rather large, beautiful house at the end of the same road owned by a family friend which I'd absolutely love to have.

Ba Be Lake must be one of the best of all time. Located in Bac Kan, to the north of Hanoi, Ba Be Lake is one of 100 largest lakes of the world. The average depth of the lake is between 20-25m. Along with the natural caves, waterfalls and nearby ponds, Ba Be Lake makes one of the best boat trips ever. Morever, people here are friendly and ready to help each other. Most of them live on agriculture and breeding cattle as well as poultry. So the food there are always fresh and tasty. Although I go anywhere, I still think of my village, Minh Duc.

Every year, every spring, my hometown jubilantly opens a boat racing festival on the Red River. That morning, on both sides of the river during the 1000m-long race, some beat drums, some blew trumpets, crowded with joy and excitement. The race started at the beginning of my village. In the river, five racing boats were lined up at the starting line. On the boat, the riders are healthy young men sitting in rows, hands holding oars. Each team has a different shirt color.
