VIII/   Astronomy is the studying of the planets and the stars, and people who study astronomy are astronomers. Telescopes help people to learn about our solar system. In 1609, Galileo used one of the first telescopes to look at the night sky. He saw mountains and craters on the Moon, and four moons around Jupiter. The first telescopes were very small.
