Part II. Read the passage and answer the following questions. (1 pt)

How does a rocket get to outer space?

A rocket uses fuel to make power for the engine. The fuel is set on fire inside the rocket. As the fuel burns, it creates gases that have great pressure. These gases are blasted out of the rocket engines.

These gases all go out the bottom of the rocket engine where it is open. They come out so fast and with so much power that the rocket is pushed up. It is pushed up so hard that the rocket overcomes the force of gravity, which tries to keep everything on the ground. The force that pushes up against the front of the rocket is called thrust.

Unlike an airplane, a rocket does not use wings to help it fly. It just uses the power and force created by the burning fuel to make enough thrust.

1. Where is the fuel set on fire?

-> The fuel is set on fire inside the rocket.

2. How do the gases come out to push up the rocket?

-> The gases come out so fast and with so much power that the rocket is pushed up.

3. What is the force that pushes up against the front of the rocket called?

Read the passage carefully, and decide whether the sentences are True or False

Our school has a model club. The members of the club try to make water rockets. The students taking part in the club love discovering new things  and learning science subjects. A water rocket doesn't cost you much. You can use the things you have used such as empty bottles, old types of bicycles. The model has two main parts : the base and the rocket.  The pump in the base is made up of water pipes and it can increase the pressure of water. The rocket made from empty bottles should have blades in its tail and a pointed head. These parts help the water go in the correct path as the membershave planned. When we use the pump to incease the pressure of water, the rocket will take off and fly into the air. our school club has just won the first prize on making water rockets.

1. The members of the model club have a love of science.
