2. Life in modern cities truly causes a lot of nuisances. In the first place, citizens have to deal with traffic congestion every day. This problem is even worse in the rush hour when so many people run out to work and are stuck on streets for hours. Next, high cost of living is also a serious issue in the city, especially in metropolitan cities. More and more people find it difficult to live on their modest salaries when prices are going up all the time. Financial pressure makes city dwellers become constantly stressed and tired. Finally, the polluted air caused by exhaust emissions from millions of vehicles, construction dust and the lack of green trees negatively affects residents’ health. Many people suffer from respiratory problems such as cough, sore throat or asthma. Indeed, city life brings a number of difficulties as well as challenges to its citizens.

3.

Dear Phuc,
I am feeling very unhappy. Can you give me some help?

I have arrived in Vietnam for 3 months but I still don’t have any friends. I have tried very hard to make friends at school but people don’t like to talk to me. I don’t know why. People here are so different from the people we can find in Hong Kong. I don’t know how I can make friends and whom I can make friends with.

You are always a very popular student at school. Can you tell something about the ways I can make friends? Whom I can make friends with? Where can I make more friends? Please give me some advice.

Love,
S.O

Dear.............,

The first and most important issue is not to reduce the food you eat daily. You can change the menu and the way you eat but if you start a diet by yourself, the first thing you’ll lose is your health.

You can find many good gyms and if you want I can send the names for you in another letter. However, you don’t need to go to a gym to stay fit. Some small changes to your life can make a big difference. For example, you can start by walking sometime in the morning or at lunchtime.

I hope you don’t have any health problem and it would be nice if you went to a doctor for a check up before starting any exercise.

Best regards,

.............

Ask:

Hi Mrs Sweetie, I'm a final year students and I'm so confuse about choosing the university. There are a lot of option for me with different range of entrance requirement points. At this time I do not know what I like and which school is suitable for me. I really need your help. Please provide me some advice as soon as posible. Thank you a lot!

Minh.

Reported:

Hi Minh, I know your feeling when choosing a university. First, I suggest that you sit alone and spend an amount of time to think what you actually like. If you can’t identify your hobbies and dreams clearly, I recommend you do a “psychological multiple choice questions” exam in our website. After understanding what field you will choose, find the list of universities that have it. Depend on your finance and your points, you can reach the final decision.

Mrs Sweetie

- Firstly, if you live in an extended family, you’d have to be a patient person because you’d be living with lots of others and if you weren’t patient, it could lead to problems. You’d have to wait your turn for everything – the bathroom, the food…
- Sencond, you need to ready to share. Because, if you live in a city, you must pay rent, gas and electricity bills as well as for credit cards… etc. It is really hard to pay them alone, but if you live with your extended family it means, you can share all the expenses.
- Finally you’d have to be help people with all your heart. If you live in an extended family, it means there are always some people who are willing to help you whenever you need. It is very beneficial, if you are in a bad situation.

STUDY WELL!
