I was born in a quiet village where the influence of the city is not much. In my village, people live very closely to each another. People are very simple in thought and behavior. Therefore they are friendly and helpful . So, the crimes of the city are almost unknown in my village. People work together and live in peace. I love them.

My village is surrounded by paddy-fields and a river. All these add great beauty and variety to my village scene. Although I do not like growing rice, but I really like the fields. It makes me have a good mood, a peace mood and a relaxed mood.

There are many people in my village. Most of them are farmers. They grow paddy in the large fields around my village. These paddy fields look very beautiful when the paddy plants are growing. The mountains in the distance and the palm trees all around, add to the beauty of these fields.

The shops in my village are very old. There are few brick buildings. Most of the shops are along the main road in the village. As the people in my village live a simple life, their needs are not many. So, many of the things found in the shops in the towns are not found in the shops in my village.

The people in my village are good. They go not like to quarrel or fight with others. Every evening they meet one another and talk about many things. If they need any help or advice, they go to the village chief. The chief is a wise man. He gives good advice and keeps the people happy.

Indeed, I like my village very much.

The name of my village is Birnagar in the District of Murshidabad. It is a big village. The famous river Padma flows down at a distance of one mile to the east. There is a big canal on the west of the village. A small canal also runs through the heart of the village. Many country-boats ply through it. Many good roads run through the village. Roads in our village can be used only in the dry season. During the rainy season, they remain under water.

Hometown is a place where the identity of a person is based upon. The name of my homeown is Nam Dinh . Although I was born and grown in the city but I still love my village, where my grandfather and grandmother met and had a beautiful love affair. Yen My commune, Y Yen District  is located 16 km from Nam Dinh city, 16 km from Ninh Binh city, on National Highway 38B connecting Hai Duong to Ninh Binh; the South borders Yen Ninh commune; the West borders Yen Duong commune; the North borders Minh Tan commune and the East borders Kim Thai commune, both of Vu Ban district. The total area of the commune is 6.03 km², with a population of 5,731 people. 

    I am extremely proud of my hometown because it is known as: land of study (Đất học). So I will also try harder to deserve my homeland. "Huyen Anh, I can do it!"

My village name is Van Phu. It’s a very ordinary village in Ha Dong District. The most important thing about our village is it’s a peaceful place to live in.Buddhism and Christianity , both religious people are living here together. We have a primary school and secondary school in our village. That’s why we don’t need to go outside to study. It’s a really good thing for us. We have a market in the village and can buy almost everything that we need from there. The natural beauty of my village is amazing. I love to live here with the people I know best

I celebrated my birthday party last year in my own house. I decided to have an all girl party with all my friends and the female members of my family. It was amazing we had two drink fountains, everything was pink and my friend had baked and decorated a huge pink cake for me it was beautiful. I think you can get the jist of my favourite colour. By the middle of the night we were all singing on karaoke and everyone was really drunk. My last memory of the night was me lying on my livingroom floor really drunk and my friend were popping party poppers on me! lol. It was a great night and all my friends still speak about it now.

My neighborhood is quiet. For example, after most people have gone to work, you can hardly hear any noise. Of course, when the kids get home, there is more noise; but, it is relatively quiet all day in my neighborhood.
Also, I feel safe in my neighborhood. The police drive everyday and the kids play outside with no problems. Since there is not much traffic, we don’t worry too much about cars.I can walk around my neighborhood without being afraid of someone hurting me.
My neighbors are really good people. If anyone has a problem with their car or even something in their house, a neighbor is usually there to help. One day, I couldn't start my car, and my neighbor asked what was wrong.

I have lots of neighbor, but the most intererting one is Bruce. He lives next to my house. We come to the same school. Brure is 1 year older than me and he is a friendly man. He like singing and playing guitar, as i can see him performing in our school. He has a sweet voice. He always help me when i'm in need, like helps me with my homework. Though I live in a city with the maddening crowd and sound, my parents used to live in villages and I have been there many times.Both my parents come from villages, and I look forward to go their places during my vacations. In the past, after harvest time, Vietnamese people made handicraft works to meet their own needs. Their products are very skillful and sophisticated, even though they are farmers and do not specialize in handicrafts. The techniques were kept secret, but taught to relatives or fellow villagers.

The village, therefore, became a very important institution in the handicraft industry. The village's name became the trademark of handicraft products made by its villagers. the man who first taught the villagers to do these handicraft works.

When urbanization came to Vietnam, many people came to towns/cities and professionalized in the handicraft works they had done in their old village. They did not compete with one another but gathered in phường/hội, the new form of handicraft village, to help others to improve.

The Vietnamese government has recognised about 1500 handicraft villages, of which about 300 are traditional handicraft villages. These villages maintain the country's handicraft heritage.
