THAM KHẢOMy favourite food is chips. Sometimes they are called French fries.  I do not have them very often because my mother says that they are not healthy. They contain too much fat. Oven chips are healthier. They have less fat in them. I sometimes have oven chips for tea as a treat. I usually have them with fish fingers. I put tomato ketchup on them. I often have peas with them. My favourite sweet food is ice cream. I like chocolate ice cream best. I also like vanilla and strawberry ice cream. I sometimes have it with fruit for dessert. I also sometimes have it outside on very hot days. Then I have it on a cone. Sometimes, I buy it from an ice cream van at the beach. My favourite foods are not very healthy so I do not have them very often. I eat them mostly on special occasions, for example when I go to the beach. That’s why I love going to the beach! 

The village has always been known to be a place of peace and quiet. The scattered houses among hundreds of plants and trees at once indicate the lack of activity in the village.
The workers in the village leave their homes early in the morning to work in the plantations or towns nearby. Some have their own plantations, and some make certain articles in their homes to sell them in the towns. A few of the villagers, including women, go out to catch fish in the streams and rivers found in the village. Though the people of the village do not usually earn much, yet they seem to be contented.
In the afternoon, most of the villagers are at home. Some of them take a nap after lunch; some work in their small gardens, and some visit the small shops in the village. In various parts of the village children may be seen playing the popular games of the village. Occasionally, a cyclist passes by.
Then, in the evening, the villagers meet one another. Some play cards and other types of games peculiar to the village. Some talk about the day's incidents in the village, and those whose minds go beyond the village discuss world events.
In almost every village there is a headman whose duty is to settle quarrels among the villagers and maintain peace in the village. Whenever there is a dispute, the villagers go to the headman who is held in such esteem that his word has the force or law. In this way the villagers have developed their own simple laws, and the crimes of cities are almost unknown to the people of the village.
During a festival, the whole village is alive with activities. Everyone is in a happy mood and plays his part to make the festival a success. This is the time for the men, women and children of the village to wear their best clothes and the village is full of colour. These simple ways of life in the village, however, must soon change. Progress in science and education has already begun to affect the outlook of the people in the village, and hundreds are leaving the village to seek their fortunes in the towns and cities.

My home village is now different from the village in my father’s story. in his story, my village is very poor.Everyone live a hard life that time. People lack of food, of money. Now, it is different. People don’t live a hard life anymore. They have enough food, enough money, everyone got a house, and many more things. The only things that doesn’t change is sentiment. Everyone always be very happy. They live together, help each other when they need, that isa luxury.That makes my village a wonderful place for everyone. People are just farmer, but they solidarity in the face of penury. And when they have money in their hands, they still solidarity they are friendly with others, they are helpful, they are good people. That’s about people.Landscape is still like the old days. That river, that mountain. Nature is harmony with people. People live with nature, people product things of nature, and nature always open-handed with people, give them resource for themto build their house. That is what people seek, and they live with it very well.That’s all I can say about my home village, in my opinion, my village is a wonderful place. War does not determine who is right, only who is left:” Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country”.

Each summer vacation, I am taken to the countryside by my parents so as to relax after a hard working term. I really like the life here. In rural areas, there are not as many houses and vehicles as in the city. As the result, the atmosphere is quite fresh and cool. Most people mainly travel by bicycle or on foot. The landscape is very poetic and picturesque. There are many gardens, rivers here. We can grow vegetables or chickens, fish,... on our own. The local are very kind, generous and friendly. They are willing to give directions to strangers and help each other in difficult times. Whenever we are away, we can relievedly ask our neighbors to keep our houses and children . Another thing that we especially like is that in the countryside, we are reconciled to nature so that the soul is always open and the body is healthy. Living in the countryside is fun and wonderful. In the future, I really want to live here.

Một điều nữa mà mình đặc biệt thích là ở nông thôn, chúng ta được giao hòa với thiên nhiên bởi vậy mà tâm hồn lúc nào cũng rộng mở và cơ thể thì khỏe mạnh. Cuộc sống ở nông thôn thật thú vị và tuyệt vời. Trong tương lai, mình rất muốn sống ở đây.

Vietnam is famous for its several holiday and festival, especially Tet holiday. It takes place from the first day of the first month of the lunar calendar until at least the third day. Although occurring in short period of time, it is believed to be the most important and popular holiday in Vietnam. There are many special food are made so as to prepare for Tet meal such as: sky square cake, Vietnamese sausage, sky rice and jam. The food is thought to reflect Vietnam’s habit and custom as well as Vietnamese’s lifestyle. Besides, the meal has other dishes fish, vegetable to show the hope for a successful and prosperous new year. In term of customs, children’s receiving red envelop from the elder, visiting relative’s houses and going to church are popular activities. Giving lucky money is thought to bring children hope and health. Church is the symbol of peace; therefore, individual go there and pray for successive year. Traditionally, the house is designed with peach flower in the North and Ochna integerrima in the south part of Vietnam. Besides, the house as well as town are clear, decorative and beautiful as all are ready to start a new year. People have cozy atmosphere and enjoy joyful time with their family’s members. It’s high time for people living at different parts of country gathering and spending time together. Tet is a chance for one to come back home after many stress and pressure of studying and working environment. Tet is not simply a holiday, it is culture and habit of Vietnamese since its deep meaning is sacred and important. All of the special holidays in my country, I Tet the most. Tet is an occasion to everyone get together in warm atmosphere. Before Tet holiday, Everyone prepares many things and decorates their house. I plant a lot of flowers in front of my house and buy many things such as clothes, foods ...

Besides, most of the streets also are decorated beautifully with colorful lights and flowers. During Tet, I spends more time on visiting my relatives, friends and colleagues. Especially, I give to each other the best wishes for the new year. Tet is an opportunity for children receive lucky money. There is a funny thing that people try to avoid argument or saying any bad things at Tet. I love Tet holiday!

Tet is a national and family festival. It is an occasion for every Vietnamese to have a good time while thinking about the last year and the next year. Spring rolls are lightly fried rice -paper rolls, smaller and crispier than Chinese egg rolls but more flavorful. They are filled with highly seasond morsels of crab, shrimp, chopped vegetables, onion, mushroom, vermicelli and eggs. To prepare them, place the above mentioned filling on a thin rice pancake, roll up then fry. Finally, spring rolls, when fully prepared, are wrapped into somes kinds of fresh vegetables, then doused in fish sauce. My mother ussually cooks spring rolls for me, espeicially on important days in year, such as Tetholiday. When I eat them, i feel all of my mother's love that she reserves for me. To me, they're like the most speicial dish in this world

My school is located on a river bank, and I think it is not the best place to build a school. They can catch a huge amount of fish during the rainy season, and the meat quality is also better. Children are not allowed to swim there because there are a lot of dangerous reefs along both of the two banks, but I think we should not swim in any big river. The river brings both advantages and disadvantages to us, but I think it is a part of our life.
