Nghe cô giáo đọc những vần thơ này, lòng em rưng rưng nhớ đến người mẹ thân yêu của em cũng có những trưa tháng sáu cấy lúa trên đồng.

Ấy vậy mà mẹ phải vơ lấy cái nón cũ, đội lên đầu, bước ra đồng trong nắng gay gắt để cấy nốt thửa ruộng này. Bóng mẹ in tròn trên thửa ruộng. Đôi mắt tinh nhanh của mẹ không hề bỏ sát bất kì một chỗ dày, chỗ mỏng nào. Tất cả những cây lúa tương lai đều thẳng tắp, trông thật đẹp. Một lát sau, như chừng đã làm xong công việc. Mẹ về nhà với một vẻ mệt mỏi nhưng tràn đầy hạnh phúc.

Em rót bát nước chè xanh cho mẹ. Em lấy khăn cho mẹ lau mồ hôi. Khuôn mặt mẹ rạng ngời có vẻ như cháy sạm vì nắng. Mẹ vẫn nở nụ cười mãn nguyện. Nụ cười của mẹ xua đi hết cái mệt mỏi của cái nắng hè.

Mẹ em là vậy. Em biết mai này có được hạt gạo trong ngần thì trong đó có vị mặn chát của mồ hôi mẹ những trưa tháng sáu trên đồng làng. Ôi! Mẹ mới vất vả làm sao! Em thương mẹ nhất trần đời.
